This car was built in winter of 1966-67 by Bob McCall of Salina, KS. It raced in Junction City, Osborne, Wichita, and Hutchison, KS. I'm looking for any photos of the car you could post?

It is a 32 Pontiac coupe body.I think what you are seeing in the photo is the garage door in the background that looks like a pickup bed.

Roland Crocker probably drove the #84. I had forgot about Deep Rock gas stations. But I do remember exactly where that Deep Rock was. I'm having a brain fade on the operator of that station. He did race though. In the 60's and 70's there was always a race car setting at the Deep Rock on Broadway on the eastside. Another hot spot for a race car setting was the radiator shop on the NE corner of Broadway and Crawford. I want to say the car # was 21

I always like to tell this story when Bill Wilson comes up. I used to deliver to the Alco/Duckwall stores for about 15 years. One time I went to Ellsworth I had my brand new RFTP T-shirts made by Rick Salem on. This guy who was going to unload the truck said why I'm I not on that shirt. I turned around and ask "Well who are you"? He said my name is Bill Wilson. I probably almost fell over. Then my reply was "THE LEGEND Bill Wilson"? The rest of the Alco crew was probably as shocked as I was. They probably didn't realize the thrills and excitement this man once provided. The store manager went to his computer right away. There was Mr. Wilson standing in front of the #88. I will always remember that as one of my most enjoyable truckin stories. He was in great shape and probably mid 60's and unloading a truck which is not a easy job. I have two others also that remind me we are in a small world.

Maybe Bill's car #88 set there at Broadway and Crawford. The days of race cars setting at every corner gas station are long gone. The last memories of gas stations and race cars is probably Jimmy Mayes #119 and his DX or Sinclair stations in South Hutchinson. In fact it was where the ALCO store is now I believe.

In 1965 I was on Bill`s pit crew he had a chev.coupe with a 6cyl.The next year I brough it and was rookie of the year in that car 1966 at Jehu speedway Salina. So I would have to say Bill started me racing.

In the winter of 66-67 I built the white #77 with a chev v/8 .I wish to God I could that car back and restore it.

That is sad unless he has it restored or in original condition. Does he show it? I can't figure out if someone isn't going to do something with these old cars why they don't let someone that will. I have heard it since I started this site back in 2000. Heck you could paint one side in his colors and the other side in your colors, LOL.

I have visited again with the gentleman that owns my old car. He tells me he purchased the car from Sid Landwehr of Wichita. If anyone happens to know this gentleman, I would like to visit with him. Thanks Bob

I haven't seen this car in almost 50 years.  I have been several years trying to locate and purchase the car.  I rescued the car and now it has made it's way back home.   It looks pretty rough, however there are some nice pieces left.   The hilibrand V8 quick change with 3/4 ton C.A.E. Ford axles and wide 5 hubs all stock ford parts.   Someone installed a Chevy "6" at some point and time. The motor is junk however a tattersfield dual Chevy carburetor intake manifold was also rescued.  There are some other parts I haven't dug out yet.  I will be entertaining the idea of someone purchasing this car for restoration.
