Tonite on wind tunnel steve kinser was on from columbia mo and he said he is coming back to woo because of the new people in dirt; new tv deal and the point fund and he just wants to race and not worry about a racing series? he also said if fred brownfield was still alive it would be different?

So what about the rest of the NST drivers except for SK, TK and the Dude, are the rest now left out in the cold? What about the other two NST owners? Looks like some got the shaft again, first from the Petty's now this. I would imagine Q State had plenty to say about how often and where they wanted there name seen.

I wonder why he didn't mention anything about being strong-armed by sponsors? TV coverage can do some amazing things.

Yeah, if I were a promoter, I'd schedule a race with the NST without Steve and Danny......right.
Kind of like scheduling a gumout show...it's' the WoO, but it's not!

Steve addressed the issue of him still being a part-owner, he said he will be losing the money he has invested, but still feels like he made the right decision at the time. So, he is losing money to return to the WoO tour, but I am sure Q is going to make it "worth his while" to return to TV and the WoO.
I wonder how long it will be before others start coming back? Surely they can't survive without Steve & Danny can they?
I liked Steve's comments when asked about the "bottom tier" of Outlaw drivers from 2006 and if they can make it this year if the NST boys come back. Steve said, "Well, I think the split was good for one thing, it let many new teams get a taste of running a full season on the road and gave them a chance to gain some confindence." He then said, "In 2007, I guess it will be a case of only the strong will survive." I get the feeling that Steve doesn't think some of the lesser drivers will be around the whole year.

It's simply amazing how many people on this board and others have so much insight to Steve's thinking.

"are the rest now left out in the cold?"
Didn't SK say at the beginning of the year he wouldn't do that ?

When the NST boys all come back 7 to 8 drivers that were on the WoO tour in 06 will not make the cut nor should they. Watching paint dry was more entertaining than the WoO in 2006. Time to kick the weak to the curb.

team wright-one,
He didn't say how, he just said that he was losing the money he had invested in the NST. I still think Q made it worth it to him to come back. Probably a financial deal of some type. They want TV and the most exposure possible and the NST wasn't able to provide that for them. Steve has to do what is best for his sponsor who has taken care of him for years. That was a big pill for him to swallow, because he did make the comment that he would never return to the World of Outlaws. Pretty hard to do after what was said, but he didn't let his feelings get in the way of a good business decision.
