From Ernie Saxton's Area Auto Racing News column this week…
THIS IS GREAT NEWS FOR SHORT TRACK RACING IN PENNSYLVANIA. On June 19th Pennsylvania short track operators will be part of a day just for them in Harrisburg, PA. Each short track operator will be invited to the Capital and asked to put at least one race car on display. This will happen in front of the Capital from 10:00 a.m. to 1 p.m.
On that same day the short track operators will be introduced in the House and possibly the Senate.
The idea is to gain recognition for the short track operators in Harrisburg, get them to understand short track racing, and they can help the sport grow and prosper.
We will have more details as the day gets closer. Mark it on your calendar to get out and support that day and show the politicos in Harrisburg just how big short track racing is in the Keystone State.
Joe Lewandowski is spearheading an effort to get all Pennsylvania promoters involved. Joe is the general manager of Lake Erie Speedway and tells us he is inviting promoters out to a meeting on May 1st to talk about the Harrisburg deal and other items of interest.
