SprintCar & Midget: Getting back to Pennsylvania, I know there was one meeting in particular where several of the 358 sprint car drivers attended. How much difference is there between their cars and yours?
Emmett Hahn: If you had a legal 358, it's probably 30 horsepower below an ASCS. And, I think what you got up there in Pennsylvania - because when we went up there to start that thing with Todd Fisher up there, we were trying to figure out how to get the 358's where they could come in and run with us and have an oppurtunity for them guys to move up a little bit. But, the more I got looking into it and checking into it, there hasn't been a lot of tech done on them 358's up there in the last three or four years, and so you've got some legal 358's, and I know they've had some challenge races with URC and I think maybe those 358's get up there and run with Curt Michaels and those guys. I'm gonna say there's probably 30 horsepower difference between a legal ASCS and a legal 358 (link to rules), but I think there's probably 20 or 30 358's up there that will outrun an ASCS car.

I just had an abcessed tooth pulled yesterday and am pretty wacked out on pain pills, not sure if it's the pain pills or what but what is the point of this post?

Hope the "tooth fairy" treated you right last night Wesmar...lol. Was a lotta hoopla around here why he would come in and try to start another new limited series and not even let our current 358's compete... for both his own benefit and that of our 358 teams who want to run Sundays. Now we know the rest of the story, he basically thinks we're a bunch of cheatin' bastages...lol.

we have 3 shark 360's between the 2 cars we race this year at ocean speedway in cali. the difference in hp between them is about 60 hp from low to high. that is off the dyno sheets. they are ALL legal non ascs 360's. you can't tell me ALL the legal ascs motors are within 30 hp of each other. you can get them farther off than that by missing the fuel setup. and most guys miss the fuel setup too much to the safe side. a good tuner can make more hp. so why don't emmett just tech the darn things if he thinks they are cheaters. and who cares if a guy wants to race a motor that is under horsepowered against his guys? is emmett just thinking the pa guys are that much better and is scared to let them in? like i said, tech is a wonderfull equalizer. try it emmett.
