Saturday, April 14 marks the return of the ASCS Sprint Cars to Cowtown Speedway in Kennedale.

Held during NASCAR weekend at Texas Motor Speedway, last year’s event featured a surprise visit from Nextel Cup Series star Carl Edwards.

Carl competed in the ASCS division that night, winning the B-feature and advancing by several competitors in the Championship event to finish 10th.

But the question becomes, will a NASCAR driver surprise the Cowtown crowd again this year?

All indications right now are yes, there will be.

It will not be officially announced as to who the driver is, due to unforeseen last-minute changes that can happen with big-time drivers.

But you can be guaranteed to have a great time at the track, and races start a few hours after the scheduled conclusion of the NASCAR Busch Series event at TMS that day.

Fast Facts for the ASCS Sprint Car event at Cowtown Speedway, on Saturday April 14:

-Pit gates open at 5pm, pit entrance is $30.

-Spectator Grandstands open at 5:00pm; adult tickets are $15, with kids 6-11 $5, ages 3-5 $2.

-Hot laps are at 6:30pm and the first race starts at 7pm.

-Last year there were 32 ASCS sprint cars that competed in the event, a similar field is expected this year. Three regular track classes will compete as well during the evening.

There may be up to two NCS drivers competing in the ASCS division on Saturday night. All depends on how the Busch race/weather goes on Saturday afternoon.

Last year Carl Edwards ran really well at Cowtown, it will be interesting to see how he does this year if he can make it back.

Should be a great night - weather is looking good for the weekend.

:)
