Instead of trying to go after streaming services like dirtvision and flo for the massive amount of subscibers they are bringing to the sport and demanding profit sharing, should these teams be trying to get more money out of their sponsors since they are being exposed to an even bigger audience?

Maybe NOS and Advance are getting too much of a bargain because of the success DV and Flo have become?

I don't think so. Look at the major sports , they all have big TV money. I'd say it would be easier for the streaming services to get the sponsorship in the form of commercial advertisements during the stream , and pass it along to all of the participants, than it would be for each team to come up with that same amount of capital.

Other than 20 or so traveling teams most sponcerships are local or regional businesses. There is no benefit to someone outside their normal business area to see their name on a car.

Was thinking the same thing.

Streaming local races across the world does open a door for some opportunity for a local racer to get sponsorship by a national company, if the company feels they will win enough to get their brand on the stream. This would be a small group of companies but it makes the local racers but more valuable to use as a billboard.

Even though I may not know you, I
care what most of you think!

I think it's more of a concern for the tracks, not the teams. I doubt that it hurts the teams much. They probably like the fact that their fans and family who couldn't make it to the track can still watch at home. As for the tracks, they will have to barter for more revenue sharing if they feel it's hurting attendance and negotiate a deal that's fair to them. Without the tracks, the streaming services have no product. The cost of increased sharing will almost certainly be passed on to the consumer. I only have flo and lets face it, $150 a year is an extreme bargain for the amount of live racing you get. I'd also be lying if I said there weren't times when I decided to stay home and watch flo instead of going to the track. Sure, being at the track is always the best experience and I still go frequently, but being able to sit on the coach and watch the races is super convenient and also cost effective. I still go to my home track just as often but when it comes to driving an hour or 2, I don't do that nearly as often as I used to. Part of that is live streaming, part of it is gas prices and part of it is me getting older. I think Rock Auto is also getting good mileage from their ads on flo. lol

If the sponsors Return on Investment is driven by TV Time, they buy a media package (Like NOS and Drydene do). There is no message that can be conveyed with a logo on the side of a car.  Media is a drivers best friend, strictly for Series credibility reasons. The track may take a bit of a hit, but trust me there aren't many empty seats at WoO Sprint Car races. Start "Demanding" profit sharing and more sponsor money and see how it works out for them.
