What has been the biggest surprise for the 2022 WoO season?

Sheldon leading the way with 7 wins?   He seems to be the man to beat on many of the short tracks.

Jacob Allen?   Someone opened a can of haulass and poured it in his tank.  Many thought he was done last year.

Spencer Bayston?   Has had very good speed in the 5 car and now two wins.

Points race?  Has it ever been this tight?   At this point four cars within striking distance of the leader.

I was hoping Kasey Kahne would have done better. So surprised he isnt.

I am glad  Sheldon is doing what he is. I researched him a but and found out he has a lot less years racung WoO than  I expected.

Surprised Sweet and Schatz only have 1 win each.

Sheldon and Macedo with nearly half the wins and clearly the cars to beat, yet Sweet still clinging on to point lead. Honorable mention is Jacob becoming a real threat to win on a consistent basis at least earlier In the year. Brent Marks being 3rd in wins at this point in the season is also surprising giving his part time woo schedule.

I have to go back to the 15 and developing the Ford motor.  I like Donny Schatz and have been watching him since he ran a 360 and most of you hadn't heard of him so this isn't bashing.  It wasn't that many years ago that I would stop at the Outlaw trailer and dump some photos onto their laptop after the races and it's almost all younger drivers now.  When I look at the list of drivers today Schatz I believe has to be the oldest on the tour.  Generally speaking when that happens the sand in the hour glass is depleted and changes are in the wind.  What is this, the third or fourth season trying to get a handle on things with the motor?  No prognostications and not wishing bad on anyone but that is becoming a more valid question every year.

I think Donny is slowing down some..Ford has lots of power but without his old crew chief its not working out as well..Donny is a good ambassador for the WOO....

I meant to include Brent Marks in my original post, and he has definetly been a good surprise.

No doubt about that, he has been great for the sport.  I'd like to see him hang in there and go out on his own terms to run his business and play around with the Late Model.  At some point I wouldn't be surprised to see that.  There is a lot of money driving the sport now and a youth movement of drivers coming in.  I've seen a few drivers come and go over a span of sixty two years watching races so the prosecf of change doesn't get me worked up much anymore.  That's life, things change.

I that that the Saturday portion of the highBanks was only show up points. But the WoO website shows Haud with 8 wins. I believe he only had 7 before Sat.

What is truth?

Both are true.  It was show up points only but all stats for the race still count.  Win, top 5, top 10, hard charger etc...
