Why did Briggs Danner get penalized on that restart? He didn't go early. You can't go low on the restart anymore? That's funny because cars were doing it all race long (Ballou every time). When a local guy does it they get penalized. What a crock, it's no wonder USAC has issues drawing cars with their club "rules".

yeah...apparently he had to stay in line. the issue i have with that is the leaders (especially t-mez) were playing games with which line they wanted to use all night. it could be the very bottom on one restart or the very top on another. if they're going to move around like that...it should only matter when you restart and not where as long as you haven't gained any position.
briggs will get his soon. he keeps knocking on the door. he's racing these guys really clean which is to his credit. one of these nights he'll just have the best car and i wouldn't be surprised if it's on one of the bigger tracks the next 2 nights.

Yeah I don't get the rule or see where he did anything wrong. It's a single file restart off 4 with no cone, which is the way I think all restarts should be. All he did was peel it down low like many other cars were doing on the restarts all race long. As long as you don't go early or lay back trying to get a running start(he did neither), then I don't understand why you can't go low. Oh well, I don't think he would have won but probably would have held on for a 2nd if he wouldn't have got penalized for nothing.
