Sometimes Karma will get you.  After having "team" cars the first 5 or so years it went the other direction sometime last year.  The Shark racing page pretty much became all about Logan.  Heck, Jacob even had to find a different trailer to sell his merchandise out of last year.  Then this past off season, all of the marketing went towards Logan, with him keeping Drydene and Jacob getting the shaft.  Well the results tell the tale.  The 1A is by far the best of the Shark racing team this year. It has become more and more obvious the golden child of the two was Logan.  I think it is great that Jacob is putting up the results while the other guy is struggling.  Like I said to start, KARMA baby.

yeah...it was odd how that all went down.  maybe somebody more "in the know" can explain how intentional everything was or why things changed.  it was definitely strange how he started selling his stuff out of the brad sweet trailer like he was some kind of outcast.  the 1s online store at least links to the 1a page now.

ultimately you like to see both cars running well.  i listened to a podcast with jacob and he seemed to be working on things like nutrition that i think of a more mature/dedicated driver doing.  maybe they were trying to send a message to him.  it seems to be working.

honestly i felt bad for jacob at times because there was always a big crowd around the 1s after races and jacob just seemed to be hanging out.  he's always been super nice to my kids.  there can at times be a bit of an arrogance around the 1s team especially after they blamed the fans for their crash at the grove last year and started roping off their pit.  they have a right to do that and i can imagine people are pretty annoying.  they do seem to enjoy the party atmosphere around their trailer though...which i don't blame them since the pa races are a homecoming...but don't be surprised then if people start thinking they get get a little too close.

Logan is 100 points ahead of Jacob for the year. Jacob has 2 wins to Logan's 1. Logan has more top 5s and more top 10s. I'm not sure how that concludes that Jacob is by far the best shark car and Logan is struggling.

As already stated, the only stat Jacob leads Logan is wins, that's 2 to 1...

Jacob Allen

Races: 18
Wins: 2
Top 5: 4
Top 10: 9
Payout: $52,900
WoO Average Finish: 11.3

Logan Schuchart

Races: 18
Wins: 1
Top 5: 7
Top 10: 12
Payout: $66,325
WoO Average Finish: 8.6

Another interesting stat, on how Jacob Allen has improved greatly, is his time trialing, he's #1 right now in Outlaw races...

2022 World of Outlaw stats

1 Jacob Allen 6.6
2 David Gravel 7.2
3 Brad Sweet 8.0
4 Carson Macedo 8.8
  Spencer Bayston 8.8
6 Rico Abreu 9.3
7 Cory Eliason 10.0
8 Sheldon Haudenschild 10.4
9 Logan Schuchart 11.28
10 Gio Scelzi 11.33
11 Kerry Madsen 11.45
12 Aaron Reutzel 11.5
13 Donny Schatz 12.5
14 Kraig Kinser 12.8
15 James McFadden 13.1

He passed some good cars last night and more than earned the win. The first 2 were big wins but last night showed that he's a threat to win now, not just when he starts on pole or is on a track you can't pass, he can beat a 55 car field in Central PA with the best in the business behind him

He didn't "choose to not participate" last year at Bristol.  It is well chronicled by Johnny Gibson, the WoO and his own team that he fell ill while at Bristol and was unable to race.

Oof at some of the conjecture in this post being presented as facts. Talk to real people and make some friends. That way you won't have to create theories. Goodness

Lets not make this into a soap opera

None of us knows what goes on inside Shark team or Drydene corporate headquarters

Simple fact is that winners always get more attention in any sport. Logan had plenty of wins before Jacob got his first. He had lots more experience when the team began, but Jacob is obviously starting to figure it out!

Go Sharks! :)

This makes me think of exuberant election coverage. "With 18 out of 75 precincts reporting, Jacob has a 2 to 1 lead over Logan. Based on that, we declare Jacob the winner."

Best part was when he turned into victory lane you could see the shadow of the Drydene sticker that had been removed

from the center of the top wing.

Drydene sold out to RelaDyne last year. I'd say we're lucky to have them in the sport at all as it seems their footprint in all of motorsports is much smaller. As for the merchandise part of things, I believe Jacob's girlfriend was running Brad Sweet's t-shirt trailer so they just sold Jacob's merchandise out of there. It is great seeing things finally click for the young man and the gap between him and Logan really shrink. I couldn't imagine a harder way to learn how to drive a sprint car than what Jacob went through basically starting out with the outlaws with the equipment that they had.

Jacob thanked Logan during this post race victory interview at Lincoln.  Those two guys always-always support one another and are like brothers.

Jacob and Logan are genuine down to earth people. I think it was more odd that Drydene was the major sponsor for BOTH cars, so to me it's not a huge deal that they decided to focus on a single car, which at the time Logan was running better.

I disagree that one is head and shoulders doing better than the other. The WOO is a tough series where a couple of bad nights can knock you down.

Just be thankful we have two young boys from the Allen / Shark Racing camp who are on the tour.

Go and support their sponsors and let their sponsors know why you are buying their product or service.

Ya know, It could have been just a buisness decision and not meant to screw anyone.   I mean why have two cars at one event when you can have one at two different events?

Karma,  Karma would be leaving entirely and you don't have a car to watch due to lack of sponsorships   Drydene has been a big sponsor.  Those who can get the sponsorship I am sure are happy to have it and it may just have come down to they were dropping one no matter what, so they chose the better record over the past few years.

I'm just glad to see team shark doing well. The sponsorship deal I'm sure was more of there choosing the car they wanted to be on. The crowd went crazy at lincoln, Bobby himself was  smiling from ear to ear.  Remember one thing, without Bobby and his vast knowledge of how to stretch a racing dollar team shark may have never materialized. He not only had 1 car on tour, he found a way to get both boys out there and they both will tell you, if it wasn't for him none of this would have ever happened. Team shark, Jacob and Logan both know, there living a dream.

As stated above, Drydene sold out during the off-season to a large market company (this is the second time they did this over the years) and the new company didn't want anything to do with racing period. It was very much up in the air if they'd stay for either car going into the off-season. After a lot of convincing and talks, they chose to stay on What I believe is a one-year prove it type deal and essentialy picked the car that had success behind it in Logan.

in regards to Jacob himself, over the years he's improved greatly as a driver and he's weathered the storm better than most would have. Entering his rookie season, he'd barely driven at all in any division. But his participation was as much about the business plan to keep the team afloat as much as any. It's not a stretch to say, they went out on tour with Logan having won at home and shown talent and Jacon was along for the ride collecting tow money and experience until they could both be successful Longterm.

The t-shirt deal has multiple layers to it, one being Jacob's girlfriend sold Sweets gear, but I also believe it had a lot to do with originally the teams sold merch and those sales went straight into the team as a low budget team. With growing sponsors and success, Jacob believed he should receive a cut of merch sales and not just be part of paying the tire hill for both teams. So he branched out to help build his own brand.

Jacob has overcome his challenges on multiple avenues that don't just involve racing and in many ways we're talking about a success story life wise alone. In any other situation outside of a family owned team, he likeky wouldn't even be driving anymore. But...he is abd he worked ti get here. There's certainly some family dynamics that have come to light over the years, but he's making it happen right now despite them.

Darn right.  Instead of seeking to create more drama than a middle school girls club, let's enjoy racing and be thankful the sport is as strong as it is right now.  And pray (or rub your lucky horseshoe or whatever you do) for more tires and cheaper diesel.
