Hoping maybe Johnny Gibson or someone will jump in to clear all of this up.  I was just wondering what you have to do to be able to bring your t-shirt trailer to a WoO show?  I thought you had to be a platinum member and attend 100% of their shows to qualify for this?  Can someone confirm this for me?  I know it has been a thorn in the ass for some of the locals in the past and even with Smoke.  What are the exact rules for this?

Not trying to be a smart a$$, but I am pretty sure you answered your own question. Pretty straight forward requirements to me.

I would trust a phone call to the WRG to have your information over well meaning people on a forum.

Even though I may not know you, I
care what most of you think!

My girlfriend's cousin by marriage and adoption twice removed read on Facebook from a fans site of race tracks that never have had the WOO that only runs on Monday nights that  the WOO charges $100,000 per night to park a T shirt trailer at the track.    Since it was on the internet, it must be true.....

Ask Rico.  He outsmarted their rules by simply becoming part of Jason Sides team.  Now he can sell his stuff at WOO events.

They charge for tickets now?

Back in the old days, Ted never took money, drivers raced for the glory and without wings you could pretty much race for nothing. True Outlaws they were called.

To try to answer your question in a snark-free way, I am pretty sure the Outlaws forbid local or Non-platinum teams from selling their wares on "souvenir row" whereever that may be at the track. They can sell it in the pits and outside the track (or in Eldora's case, turns 3 and 4) but the main teams are all together.

For some tracks like Eldora, the Grove, Knoxville, this is kind of meaningless as the layout allows for fans to get to the merch easily without having to buy a pit pass or try to buy one after the show. But for other tracks, I'm sure it puts a damper on sales. I know people were complaining about Port a couple of years back.

OK, since you had to be a total wise-ass to an honest question, we now know that you MUST be a Platinum member, which requires driver and team to run 100% of the WoO shows.  Glad we have that cleared up.  Like I said, 100%, just so we are all clear.

Believe it or not I really wasn't trying to be a wise guy. My understanding, as a fan, was that only a Platinum member could bring their merchansie trailer on the grounds of a World of Outlaw sprint car sanctioned event to sell their stuff. All others could only sell their shirts from their trailers. Agree or disgree it has been that way for years. Sorry if you think I was trying to give you grief, that was not my intention.

And my understanding is that as a platinum member, you must run 100% of the WoO scheduled races.  Now that we understand that, after night 1 of the 2022 WoO season, there are only 36 cars that could potentially be considered platinum members.  Also, with KTJ, Hafertepe and the 97 car not there tonight, that would get us down to 33 that could potentially have their t-shirt trailer set up at a WoO race.  Just making sure I am keeping up is all.

Now can a platnum member run the extreme outlaw non winged shows without being penalized?

I still have 21 eligble drivers according to the WoO platinum status, PERFECT ATTENDANCE policy.

Gravel, Haud, Donny, Sweet, MdFadden, Macedo, Logan, Eliason (All-Star), Zearfoss, Reutzel, Jacob, Gio, Bayston, Kraig K., Brown, Gennetten, Gass, Wayne J., Rose, Sides and Kahne.

Eliason will go run All-Stars, Reutzel will pick and choose, Gio will pick and choose, Brown will pick and choose, Gennetten and Wayne J will also pick and choose.

That will leave a total of 15 eligble drivers to have t-shirt trailers out.  At least according to the rules that everyone of you on this post hammered me about.

So tell me this.  Being's that Rico is no longer affiliated with Jason Sides, why was he allowed to have his t-shirt trailer at the WoO show this past weekend in Texas?  Please keep in mind that everyone of you crucified me for asking the question a few weeks ago and that you all verified that a driver must run or have the intent to run 100% of the shows to have a merchandise trailer at any WoO show.

Not that I care about the T shirt issue, but is Texas a "right to work" state, maybe thats why rico could sell stuff?  Just wondering .We know the WoO plays favorites at times.

Sadly, Texas is a "Right to Work" state.  I can't imagine what that has to do with Rico selling t-shirts in Texas.  Please explain.

Rico would be able to run his t shirt business without someone putting the thumb on him. Wolfgang had a lawsuit back in the day dealing with the right to work, some did not want him to race after the accident so he sued because some tracks were in a right to work states. Not sure if this is the case with rico and I stated earlier that I don't really care about it. I don't understand why you have a problem with right to work states, you must be a union guy.

Went through what WRG has on their website as it relates to memberships and it doesn't really outline or state that you need to compete in all 100% of WoO events. I know some have said that there was some sort of announcement about that but the rulebook on their site does not state it. I know it was stated Rico was going to run somewhere around 80% of the schedule to potentially push for being a full timer next year so not sure if that has anything to do with him being able to sale t shirts. Appears their are platinum memberships and gold memberships so maybe as long as you are a member you can sale.

Either way, I really do not care and will not lose sleep over it nor will it effect me with buying a ticket to an event. I care more about the things happening on the track vs who is allowed to sale what behind the grandstands and so far each race this season has been pretty good.
