Thanks for reminding me that he didn't get suspended. That was another thing you said over and over, and once again, the Outlaws didn't agree with you.  

You do realize the outlaws basically said nothing.  Sorry for the no caution and the rest tongue and cheek.  Hey whatever makes you happy!  LOL!!! 

I have only been attending races since 1982.   I have seen a lot of crap in my time at the track.

WoO was wrong in their statement. They said he spun into infield.  No. No he didn't spin, he was spun. He was contacted by another driver and spun. That 100% deserves a caution and an apology from WoO for the ineptitude

What an idiot. WoO said they goofed yet you quote the post saying it was fine. Copy and pasting something over and over doesn't will it in to be a factual statement.

Anyone with decent eye sight could take a look where the crews, officals and other vehicles were and know it was not a good spot. Hell, you can take it a step further. There were photographers during parade laps and such that were in similar area as Shedlon's car. Guess where they weren't under race conditions and why?

Look who is calling the kettle black!   They basically said nothing sorry didn't change a thing.  No caution.  Sheldon was OUT OF HARMS WAY.  That is why there was no caution.  If he wasn't there would have been a caution.     The only thing the outlaws are sorry about is Sheldon threw a hissy fit because they didn't throw the caution.   Poor little Sheldon!   If the caution did fly it would have been a courtesy caution for an outlaw spinning.   Glad everyone is happy with what they released even though they said nothing!  If he was in harms way how did no one see him where he was sitting?  He wasn't in HARMS WAY.....that is how!! 

Sheldon was WRONG for what he did no matter how you slice it.  He should have been suspended by the outlaws!   He is an entitled brat.  Sorry to disagree.  So the outlaws basically nothing and everyone is happy.  You go with that!  LOL!

Some tracks I have been to would move us behind a barrier because it was a track rule for photographers even though cars would spin out and end up where we weren't allowed without a yellow.  That was local tracks, Modifieds and that sort of thing but same deal.  Don't throw a yellow, driver gets mad and (they have starters) pulls out on the track, stops in front of the flag stand and gives them the #1 sign.  That has been going on as long as I can remember as well.  I have seen that when Sprints were racing as well but not the WoO, however track rules would be the same regardless.

some people are upset about the woo statement.  i'm happy with it.  they admitted they were wrong.  johnny gibson's tweet was a nice way of saying without saying that they held the official responsible.

yeah...the woo have no responsibility to say anything if they don't care about being transparent and they think race fans are stupid.  most businesses run that way these days and get away with it.  they risk another series coming along that does believe in those things.  like one run by tony stewart who i always thought of a straight shooter and larson who seems to be gradually more willing to speak his mind.

(by the way...apparently usac dq's larson after the pavement race monday but let it slide under the radar.  nothing on their socials about it.  again...lack of transparency.)

hoping for a good weekend without any nonsense.  the grove already rained out.  they cited light rain, humidity, and chance of rain tonight.  i was out running by the race track during that shower and calling it light rain is generous.  usually i can back them up about the rain being pretty heavy.  probably just better to stick with concerns about cost of travel and tires with the threat of rain.  i do think part of this is the tracks thinking we're all stupid.  some people do a great job living up to that reputation unfortunately.

the cost of that to williams grove is i couldn't recommend somebody traveling a distance for a race.  it's not really clear why they rain out.  eldora seems to do whatever it takes to get a race in.  same with port royal.  the grove not so much even when the outlaws are around.  they'll still take 15+ minutes between heats like back in may when everybody knows the rain is coming.

Last Little haud in harms way.  No caution.  He did a 360 in the middle of the track.  Again No CAUTION!  I guess he was out of harms way?  LOL!!  I know he kept moving....barely, however, I have seen them throw the caution for less.

I like the All Stars.  Having said that...until they get the best drivers they will not be as good as the outlaws.  In the next 10 years the outlaws will still have the premier racers.  The All Stars will still be second best......that is a distant second best.

Have you really never seen a flagman signal the leaders about gaps?  I've been going to races for 35+ years and have seen several of them do this regularly.  In fact, I'd say the best flagmen I've seen all do it - Doug Clark at Knoxville, Dave Farney with STSS in the northeast.  Some just point to the car behind, most hold two flags parallel to the ground - the closer together, the closer the car behind is.  

To me it's always been a sign the flagman is focused on what is going on.  Back in the day before transponders it was also a way to ensure the scorers and the flagman were on the same page picking up the leader for lap count.  

It's a best practice and a courtesy, not some deep state conspiracy.

     I gotta be honest and say that in 35 or so years at Husets, I never saw Doug Clark do that.

     I have seen him and several other flagmen give a signal that there's 2 laps to go, and you're the lead car. That was done by holding the green and the white flags with the cloth tight to the stick and making the letter "X" out of them. As the leader passed the flagstand, he would rotate the flag configuration back and forth: "x"  "+" "x"  "+" a couple times. On the white flag lap, the leader got the white flag held by the stick and down at the bottom and rotated, so he saw the whole outline of the flag. Everone else just got a white flag waved by holding the stick.

The flag man signaling the leader and telling them how big of a lead they have is a New York modified standard.

The official flag man for the DIRT/WRG group., signals the leader every lap of every race from the heats to the consi and of course the features.   I went to some weekly New York modified tracks; sprints were there or I wouldn't have been, and even the local flag men signal to the leaders.

I was at a WoO sprint/DIRT Modified race and I saw the flag doing his signaling.  At first I thought he was showing two to go but there was not enough laps run yet.  I then figured out what he was doing and I couldn't believe it.  So I asked the local fans around me what was the flag man doing?  They said giving signals to the leader on the size of lead.  I  said that was nuts and they don't do that in Central Pa . I said that ruins the race and the leader shouldn't  be told the lead by the flagger because then he knows how hard to run or not run.               

They got kinda offended and said that is how it is done up here.

The flagman in the video you are referring to with Schatz?  Dave Farney.  The flagman "gushing about it" with Schatz?  Dave Farney.  Soooo....yeah.
