any thoughts on the macri/mike wagner run in on the front stretch?
the deal between macri and logan could qualify as a racing deal. this one looked like macri just wrecking somebody. he said after the race you can't see cars that are next to you. he's right...i don't drive race cars and i don't know how they avoid a wreck every lap which i said after the deal with logan. if i did...my first goal would be learning how to race around other cars. i don't change lanes on a highway without knowing somebody isn't there.

Do you happen to have a rear view mirror on your car? I am pretty sure sprint cars do not. I have heard it said that you can be a hero when passing on the outside but that guy can't see you coming. How many times do you see guys getting squeesed on the back stretch for the same reason? Hard racing, the 39m,55 & 45 could have all been in that as close as they were running.

I have a question. Where is Lance Dewease ? Is he only going to drive when the outlaws or all stars come to town ? Is his boy starting to race ?

I agree on the racing deal. Just saw the clip of the wreck but on another site they said the lap before the roles were reversed and Macri avoided being ran into the wall.

I'm not going to pile on. In all seriousness, maybe try and race karts sometime. Check it out. Find a track and maybe rent a ride. I'm not saying it would be a sprint car experience but it would give you track time with competition. It is an eye opening experience that you won't forget or regret. I was suprised that Mike tried that move, it wasn't going to work, not Macri's fault. Anthony could use a little work in his VL speeches though, he has many more to do.

Its always a different perspective when you have been in the seat, isn't? Don't care if its karts or what. You learn real fast where to be and where not to be and when its your line and when its not.

Is it really on Macri? He was the leader and coming to the fence off the bottom driving down the front strectch with a clear line of sight. Wagner's LF was to Macri's RR, which still means to me, Marci still has the line and he was coming up to the fence.
Mike Wagner has raced long enough to know better than to go into a hole as such. Did he get squeezed, sure. Was there enough room if he got squeezed, nope. Miscalcuation on his part IMO.
|
Yeah that's the way I saw it. Wagner had a run coming off the top and tried to stick it bewteen Macri and the wall and just ran out of room. Unfortunate but that's 100% on Wagner IMO. Should have either lifted or tried to turn it back under like Macri tried in the incident with Logan. That incident was different in the fact that Logan was going for the pass and went from the bottom up accross the track knowing Macri was there.

yeah...i think he could have just said something like "hated that happened". he called out the fans instead. he said it would come up on social media so i didn't want him to be disappointed.
