Reading through this took me back to when NASCAR was fun to watch.  When did NASCAR get boring?  In my opinion when Tony Stewart got old.  He was a guy that would run his mouth and back it up if he had to.  I remember thinking the same thing about him that many of you are thinking about these 2.  My point is, just enjoy this.  Two people who were upset and not afraid to act like grown children about it.  Stuff like this makes the racing a lot more fun, how will they race each other in the future?  What happens when or if they have to pit next to each other?  Enjoy stuff like this well it still exists.

In a way every fight I have been a part of or witnessed has been overblown. Kind of always reminds me of the playground when two people would fight then it was the talk the next day but in reality, only a few punches were thrown with 1 or 2 landing. Not going to change anything on the track. Aaron will probably win a few more along the way and Wayne will continue finishing where he finishes while living the dream. I do respect Wayne a little more though more so for standing up for himself. In my view Aaron acted stupid at Jacksonville for exchanging words after the accident. As Wayne said, he didn't wreck on purpose.

The context around the pit area incident would be nice. If Reutzel tries to go up yelling and trying to intimidate or be a big shot I have no prob with a jab to the mouth. If it was a hey what was all of that about then punches are thrown then that's a different story.

Apparently you never saw Keith Kauffman fight. It didn't happen much, but when The Man From Mifflintown connected, you were hitting ground. There's a very cool story in Doug Wolfgang's book about Keith shutting up one of Posseland's many big mouthed idiots with a well placed fist to the jaw. Sure wish it would happen more often. I'd like to see Mr. Schatz drop some loser sometime. But then again, is it really worth it? Probably not.......

Well, it was certainly no "Hearns/Hagler", but it was the first time I've seen multiple punches actually thrown in my mere 11 years of watching sprint cars.....

But way back when i started watching dirt track, in the Virginia hills, in the early 1960s. A guy named Smokey Stover was the king at East Side Speedway, Waynesboro. "Modifieds", which at that time were old hotrod coupes. He won 22 of of 24 races in 1962, usually starting from the back, cause thats how they handicapped it. One of the times he lost was cause 3 guys boxed him in, one in front, one on each side. They pulled into the infield & had a fistfight... I don't recall if the race was even over!

Very exciting for a 12 yr. old kid... I'll never fergit it ;)

There are definately exceptions to the rule and that would be one of them. Some people you just do not mess with and most of the time it is not worth their time and the ramifications of putting their fist in the jaw. These days with camera phones being everywhere if a driver does act then it will be posted and have just as many negative comments as positive comments. Stewart a few years ago decided to call out a drunk idiot with a left hook and was blasted just as much as he was praised. The legal charges and potential lawsuit to some might be worth it, but the comments all over the internet may not.

There is a saying "Don't let your mouth write checks your ass can't cash." This would apply to Mr. Reutzel in this case.

By the looks of that left jab, that probably isn't ol' Wayne's first fight.

The fact that Brandon Wimmer didn't receive a few of them when he wrecked them both hard at Knoxville when they were already in transfer positions will always amaze me. I have seen some stupid shit over the years but that deal quickly cracked the top 5 when it happened.

In the Jan Opperman book there is a story about Jan knocking someone out on the track after a wreck at Williams Grove. Jan said the other driver had a habit of using the car on the outside as a cushion and he neede to teach him a lesson. I still don't know who the other driver was. I remember back in the 70's and 80's when fights in the pits and even the stands were very common. It's a good thing it's not like that anymore but there are times when it is warranted IMO. I don't think you would have seen tiny pipsqueaks throwing reckless sliders and driving super aggressive back when there was a good chance of getting your ass kicked for driving like that.

That was Kemenah that wimmer took out.  But I agree, Chad showed a lot of poise by not stomping wimmer ass.  Still shake my head when I see that replay.  What was he thinking?

Jared Esh did a very similar move on Skylar Gee last year on the last lap of the Tuscorara 50 B-main, racing for the last transfer spot.

I can't remember who said it, but there was an NFL player that was once talking about celebrations after sacking the quarterback.  He said something like "I have never been impressed with a 300 pound man, blowing up a 200 pound man, while he was in the middle of concentrating on something else"   The same applies here.  I'm not overly impressed that a large man with fighting skills can beat up on a much smaller man and cause him to run away.  Does nothing for me.  So I'm not going to go buy a shirt for this reason.

I think if Johnson wanted to hurt Reutzel he could have succeeded. He threw a few punches and made Reutzel think about the reason. I'm sure it's all good now.

End of the day, the fight was a joke and Johnson is way over his skies running with the WoO!

I didnt realize running with the WoO required a certain amount of preliminary qualification as is required in hockey or football.  If you take out the non threats to win each night you may have the biggest WoO group in many years but a generous 8 team touring group showing up in Montana isnt going to impress anyone.

I am sure the Woo are happy paying 8 teams to show up simply so they can say we have 16 cars.

Nevermind the nay sayers, Wayne Johnson is an accomplished 360 driver performing against guys with way better budgets, and he's missed only 1 show so far. Pretty damn good enough to run with the Outlaws to me. Definitely had worse guys try to run the Tour (Shoutout to Dane Lorenc wherever he disappeared to.)

Back to the pressing charges thing. Looks like Wayne may have a case against Erin here. After all, she did throw her bike at him....
