That is at todays prices. Electric has been going up like crazy over the last 9 months to a year. It will cost a lot more in the near future.

ah yes, more evidence of "dipshittery." Okay, let's put electricity up 50%. Now it's 6 cents per mile. Make you happy? This is why we can't have nice things.

I am not sorry for bringing up the truth and will never be sorry for that.
Everything is up 15 to 35 percent across the board from a year ago ........thanks to you know who....with a few strokes of his pen. Electric will continue to go up like crazy over the next couple of years.

Friend just recently got his brand spanking new F-250 4 wheel drive platinum edition truck. It's a hybrid. In reverse it's powered fully by electric. He is getting 27 mpg. All for the price north of 90k. So, you can have all the bells and whistles you just have to reach deep into that piggy bank to get it. On a trip down thru Georgia, at a Parkers gas station, they have lined up all these power stations to plug your electric vehicles in. First time I ever witnessed this. Driving by there was 4 tesla's sitting there getting there power on. Are they charged a fee for plugging in ???

Yeah, now you only have to pay double for you car......that really makes sense. Put in a charging station at the house. I can buy a lot of gas for my 40+ mpg car.
I know they will subsidize it....guess what taxes for everyone is going to go up like crazy too. We can't subsidize everything that comes down the pike.

The charging model is also changing. The first charging stations were free and were normally at large institutions. (Goverment, banks, large shopping centers, schools, etc) There is now a model for charging stations to be a pay as you go subscription service. There will be an app on your phone that you use to pay for charging your car. Finally, you will see Tesla dedicated charging stations. When Tesla first started selling vehicles, those dedicated charging stations were free to use. However, for models being sold now, you have to pay to use the Tesla charging stations. As the model continues to mature, most people expect all chargers to move to a subscription service.
If you saw a bank of chargers at a gas station, I would be willing to bet an adult beverage that they were on some sort of subscription service or were dedicated Tesla charging stations.
If you are interested in any of this, with a couple quick Google searches, you can find all kinds of information. #IWorkforGM

"Everything is up 15 to 35 percent across the board from a year ago"...............................define "everything." I know that "you know who" isn't helping, but holy crap would we be in some serious @#$t if everything was actually up 15-35%!!! Are you speaking energy, or "everything?" If you're speaking everything, inflation for everything was about 6.8% for 2021-----which is terrible, but not 15-35%. 15-35% would have already caused a stock market crash and we'd be at the start of a depression. Are you talking energy? Electricity was up 6.5% nationwide year over year from 2020-2021. My bill did not change which must mean some others had bigger increases to arrive at that average.
If you want to start a sentence with "everything" you should mean everything. Otherwise, your statement is false by the second word.
By the way "you know who's" policies have not even begun to have an effect on the gas prices. I believe his policies will have an effect, but you're giving him way too much credit for his policy to be effecting the flow of fuel in the matter of a few short months. The fuel price is what it would have been no matter what. Give his ideas a few more years before you draw a conclusion. (it's likely not going to be good, but he doesn't have the power to change the prices that quickly----he's far from God)

I used to worry about the future and actually feel my opinion might affect it. Now I realize that I should just enjoy the moment and make memories while we can. It will be what it is. Not saying we cant discuss it, no harm in that.

One thing about living a long time is that you have alot of different things to compare. I saw my first race about 75 yrs ago. AAA always raced once a year at Cedar Rapis. We got to see alot of Indy car drivers Troy Ruttman won the Indy 500 and 5 weeks later he was at Cedar Rapis with guys like J. Parson Duane Carter and many others. When IMCA came to town we got to see a wide variety of engines. GMC 6 bangers, Ranger aircraft, supercharged midget engine, Miller, FH fords. Nothing like an enclosed grandstand when they drop the green flag and you hear the engine vibration sound. Was it better then, I do not know. How do you compare apples and grapes. Then a 25 sec lap was fast, now a 15 sec lap is fast.

I wonder how many of these junk e-cars were caught on 95 in the latest storm in VA. I bet they wished they had gas cars if they were in an e-car......just saying!!

Interesting article about what would happin if an electric car was stuck in an ice storm.
