This is a great decision IMO .! Reutzel said this more than once, “Points racing can take the fun out of racing, but it's part of it when you’re running a series”. I'm sure if he had it his way they would run a true outlaw schedule, but at the end of the day it's up to the guy's signing the checks. One more season with the ASCoC and I think we’ll see Reutzel move onto the WoO. Again IMO, he’s a top 5 driver if not a top 3 with the Outlaws.
It’s no secret the WoO and ASCoC put up incentives to get these drivers to tour with them. So, with this being a business and a driver like Reutzel who obviously has what it takes to run with the WoO and has the backing to do so. I can't help but think Tony did everything he could to get Reutzel to defend his ASCoC title in 2019. I would like to have been the fly on the wall to overhear that conversation between Tony and Mike Baughman.
