The show should run along faster than a "regular" saturday. Less cars, however, I don't remember how USAC moves the program along.

Honestly, Knoxville wants to know these things. Simply complaining to complain is different. Yes we have it very good at Knoxville. I myself would rather be done around 10, instead of 11. I myself am more likely to bring a young wun or friend if I know we can get out of there before 11.

have sent constructive criticism to the track and received a response. I can tell you 100% they want to know, but keep in mind, there are other factors that none of us know about. Good life advice too, you may not always know or understand what factors go into making a decision that you like or dislike. And an explanation isn't always needed despite how bad you want to know.

Kendra definitely had some influence on how the program was ran. You can probably find an interview with her specifically pointing this out.

I love that Jason Reed, has tried to do (2) WOO events in the spring and late spring /early summer, and a (2) day USAC show.

I'm picking Grant on Friday and Bacon on Saturday to Park It.  By the way, go watch the Dirt series that Flo produced. I think there are (3) episodes out now.

Before 11 is a decent goal with 10 pm being optimal end time. No youngins of mine going tonight. Maybe tomorrow. Prob see you sometime this weekend.

Bacon will be the man to beat for sure! Pretty cool seeing sponsors step up the winning portion to 11k tonight and 12k tomorrow.

Between the request to eat ass and the thanking of someone for sticking it in their ass, I'm thinking that the thread should be changed from "Cornbelt at Knoxville" to "Cornhole at Knoxville".

Enjoy the races, Guys!

Cornhole is a popular game at Knoxville

In fact, first time I ever saw it played was at The Nationals several years ago

Oh wait.... THAT cornhole.... wink

My radar app shows light rain in Knoxville now. Knoxville app showed no time trials started at 8 pm so good luck being done by 11pm if it does not get rained out.

Been going to Knoxville since '79 and the worst thing they can do is start the program earlier to appease a few sissy fans that complain about being out past 10pm. In fact I think they should push hot laps back to 7pm and time the support classes in their hot lap sessions to make up for it. That makes better sense to me than runnning a shit load of time trials in 90 degree blazing sun that ruins the track and is uncomfortable to be in.

That's fine with me. Start later. Start on time. Water it plenty. Run it straight through quick. Curious how the prep will be here. No water added is an interesting strategy. Let's see how that plays out.

Not sure why running a entire race program before 10:00 is such an infuctuation with so many people. Personally I dont really care as I am there to make a night of it. Don't get me wrong I dont want to get out at Midnight but 10-11:00 or a little after seems perfectly normal.

I have noticed the track has been dustier than normal the last 2 times that I have been there... Dust is usually not an issue at Knoxville.

Well all of us on here are die hards and would be there until 2am if need be to see a race. Children and first time race goers are not. Usually you can tell who doesn't have small children on here because the answer is always the same - Who the heck cares what time we get home you pansy! When you see people leave before the mains that is typically not a good sign. All I am saying (or bitching per fatalbert) is be mindful of trying to run a prompt show. After the wingless B one 410 winged car was in the hot grid. ONE! Kerry Madsen. It took what I roughly guessed looking at my phone time 9-10mins between checkered flag to green flag. Then between winged and wingless A mains it was 11-12mins. I didn't use a timer so accuracy is only within 1-2 mins. Bacon was out at lap four so any double duty comments make no sense. You have to have some time between events but it could be limited.

I highly disagree about the track prep being good Saturday night. Heard they are purposely prepping it to be slicker than ever to be easier on engines. It was dustier than I ever remember and both A-mains were snoozers until it took rubber at the end of the USAC race and all hell broke lose. After the last two weeks, maybe that's what they want? Kind of sucks though that most of the non-wing cars were running laps times they ran back in 1981. It was like watching them try to hook up on ice.
