My cousin won a midget B-main in the late 70s, back in the days of 40-car fields. He was driving his buddy's car, which had a ton of power but weighed as much as a tank. My cousin eventually won a series championship, but we still remember that win in the semi.
Congrats, BMcLain21. I hope you recall your heat race win fondly for many years. I bet you will.

yeah...i wasn't born selfish like so many others. i can't apologize for that.
i have heard those discussions about whether fences make the risk worse. you guys are obviously experts on crash physics and have done all the crash testing to prove your point. all i can say is something seems really wrong about not trying to keep cars "in bounds" especially when there's a decent drop off behind the fence.

What the hell does it have to do with being selfish? No one claimed to be an expert on crash physics or crash testing. You must be relatively new to the sport. I've been going to 50+ sprint car races a year since I came out of the womb. I've been to over 100 different tracks and I've seen countless accidents. Nobody needs a degree to figure out that certain crashes result in certain outcomes more often than others. I didn't pull that out of my ass. These things actually happened and in many cases, I witnessed them in person. I don't give a shit if it "seems" wrong, I'm giving you real life cause and effect of the elevated risks of injury caused by catch fences. You can like it or not.....doesn't matter. Reality remains reality.

Hey BMcLain21, good on you for the win.
I know you have crewed on the road for Kasey K. Has he ever won at the Grove ?

Between 1992 and the present there have been two fatalities at the Belleville Highbanks. As wicked fast as that place is and just how terrifying the thought of going out of the ballpark there is neither of those deaths were the result of a crash that ended up with the car outside of the racetrack. Outside of the guardrail there is nothing to keep a car from leaving the joint and going for a long ride. In the same time period mentioned above there have been more than a few cars who have cleared the guardrail and some in VERY spectacular fashion. All of these drivers either walked away or were able to do so after short hospital stays. The proceeding statements are facts.

I've never needed a reason to have a drink before and I am a long ways from my party days past, BUT your Grove WIN will most certainly bring out a CEASAR tonite as I watch Williams Grove. Forever to be known in my World as theTrack that BRANDON tamed!
(This was worth coming out of retirement for)
