That's pretty much how I feel. Unfortunately in this day the degenerates in our Society would probably talk to their Mothers that way because that is how their Mothers talk themselves. Self Respect, Respect for others is unfortunately a thing of the past.

You people crack me up...this is a racing forum, not some High school newspaper. As far as me not knowing what the 1st Amendment means because I mispelled it is as funny...If you dont like it, don't read it...thats your right.  As far as Mothers go, lets stay away from that topic as mine don't visit this site.

By the way you mispelled language it your topic post, lol.

By the way...If you search all of posts/comments, I very rarely use "foul language".

We try to give folks a bit of free rein around here and don't really condone nor censor (much) profanity -- just don't go overboard with your language and hopefully have the decency to not direct it excessively toward anyone in particular. I'd be willing to bet kids will hear it somewhere else beside reading a particular word here first.

I've been a member of every iteration of the Hoseheads Message Boards since the inception in 1997. I still have my name badge that Duane (RIP) made for everyone for the reunions we used to have each year at Knoxville. For about the first 8 years, the worst word I ever saw on here was "damn" or "hell". There was a TOTAL and MUTUAL respect for each other, no matter if you were a wing, nonwing, Steve, Sammy, PA or CA fan. It progressed to the occasional "f bomb" and then progressed to bashing and a total disrespect for others. It used to be a daily stop for me and I was a VERY active poster for the better part of 12 years, but I come here less and less because of the path this board has taken. Keep up the good work people, you have taken a gem and turned it to coal.

Obviously some people don't have common decency to respect others.

to those with small vocabularies, just because you can does not give you the right to be foul!

hope the webmaster bars those that post foul language.

Dose this mean I'm inept or, is my constitution of an inbasal ? Fuck crying out loud !! This is why I camp at major sprint car events. Tent campers are fucking good fun at the dirt track. Whoo haaa ?/%#"-)

I beleive the 1st ammendment gives us all the right to free speach...I suppose your one of those people who would like to take that right from us too...

Dont be just another Asshole you Fucktard

No, I don't want to take away anybody's free speech, I'm just stating that people should have more character and morals to use decent language and refrain from using foul language In any situation. Foul language is the sign of a small vocabulary and poor taste. Just wondering, do you talk that way to your mom and dad?

The fact is you don't do much of anything around here. I don't blame the posters, I blame you. You and the way you moderate (or lack of it) are the reason this site has went down hill. May not be kind words to say, but they are true. I'm sure you'll leave all the cursing up, and delete this!

This is a prime example of what's wrong with the world today. Too many people get offended over things and expect the rest of the world to change to suit their hang ups. News flash, most people swear. Kids are gonna hear bad words on TV, music, at the races, at sporting events, from their friends at school etc. Political correctness is killing our society. People get offended over stupid shit and raise hell about it and “sensitive" people give in and they get their way. More and more people just keep their mouths shut and don't speak their mind because if they say something that could be interpreted as racist, sexist or otherwise, it could ruin their lives. Instead of worrying about what your kids hear from other sources, focus on the example that YOU as parents set. Ultimately, that will have the most impact on how a child turns out when they become an adult, not some random guy using the word “fuck" in a message board post. Granted there is a time and a place for everything. You won't see me walking into a church or a school throwing F-bombs around but this is a sprint car message board. Sprint car fans are mostly blue collar dudes who are a little rough around the edges and when such folks post on a forum, you're going to get a little bit of rough language from time to time. I've never one time seen anything on this board get out of hand with foul language because sprint car fans are also the best people on earth and I think 99% of us know that its probably not cool to throw dirty words around in every other word of a post. Ironically enough, of all the threads I've read on this board, this one has by far the most swearing. Imagine that?

An old racer was reported to have once said "when this gets so that anyone can come down out of the stands and drive one of these things that's when I'm done".  In the case of the internet I'm one of those people who has been here since day one as well.  In 1997 even some lare companies had yet to establish a web presence and the internet was more like a community of techies who had the patience to wait out a 14.4 modem just to look at a cool photo.  I remember for a while there each year more and more people bought computers and got online.  Every year around the holidays we'd see a bunch of new people on the boards, I guess Santa was handing out x486's to good girls and boys.

Anyways, internet speeds got much faster, technology caught up to where one didn't have to be part geek just to run a desktop, laptops, tablets, smart phones, all of that came on the scene.  Now everybody is online and it has become a free for all.  Still, if one has thick skin and can ignore the rip rap it's still a good place to stop once in a while.

It certainly has changed a lot over the years.  wink

Do you mean "imbecile" and not "inbasal"?

I'm just checking, because that is one of the more creative misspellings I've ever seen.  Brav-O.

budz76, I respectfully disagree with your statement that it is a sign of poor vocabulary and poor taste.  I have driven trucks all my life and have been around that language for as long.  I believe it is a product of your environment and then maybe a little poor taste.  If you are around a bunch of buddies and let an f-bomb go, so be it, but if you are in mixed company, Wives, Parents etc....and let one fly?  That is poor taste.   We are not talking to our Mom's or Dad's on here, and if there are Mom's and Dad's on here, then they need to realize there is no filter and deal with it, or don't read it.

Good post. The amount of people who turn every debate into a personal attack is alarming. How do we expect sprint car

racing to grow when its biggest supporters thrive on trashing the sports biggest icons?

I work in aviation....believe me, I know more uses of the f word than you can imagine. It's not about free speech or kids....it's about respect. I have seen clowns like you all come and go from this forum over the past 18 or so years. I was here before you came here and i will still be here when you are nothing but a distant memory. There once was a time when several big name drivers, owners and crew chiefs would post to this forum. But those of you who are content with ruining what once was a diamond, bave ruined it. There is an old Mark Twain saying that is more relevant today with public Internet forums than ever before...... "It is better to keep your mouth closed and let people think you are a fool than to open it and remove all doubt".

Well put Hawker,  I have been a contributor to this forum for nearly as long as Hawker.  In the early years we, the oldtimers of today, would bicker, argue, use sarcasm, use variations of the name Possee and perhaps say sh?t now and then.  I don't ever remember Hawker, myself, Duane, Coach, wifey, MSPN and a host of others, that ever used the F word or was disrespectful to one another.  Life is better that way.
