Got used to watching WOO on dirtvision last year with season pass.  Oh well, the local racing is probably better anyway. And besides, it was very frustating at times last year watching dirtvision when they were on the west coast.  There' not likely a chance I will buy many nights with the quality they had last season.  I will let others be the quinnea pig.  Not all shows were bad, by the end of the season on non west coast tracks, the webcast was watchable.

Anyone else having problems resigning up.   I tried a new account, old account etc.  Nothing works even though they emailed me about resigning up.

I can't even get back in to my old account or reregister for a new one, might be done even listening for the year.

I don't think you can really complain about the Volusia coverage figuring your getting 5 nights of sprint car racing for $69.99, that comes out about $14 a night. Figuring that $14 would not even cover my gas out of state or to the airport I think it is a good deal. I was going to get the season pass this year but if it is not offered I will just pick and choose what shows I want to watch. It is not free for them to offer the video as they have to pay the camera guys and I am sure give a slice of the revenue to the promoter of the event.

Unfortunately, DIRTVision.com is not offering the season pass option this year. We are adding a significant number of new shows as well as increasing the production quality.   With the increase in number of shows, as well as additional cost of production, the price we would have had to charge for the season would have been a significant one.  We have chosen to follow the model that other online Dirt track streaming sites have and offer shows based on a per event model.  We are doing our best to keep the shows affordable and still less than the cost of a ticket. We want fans to to be able to watch as often as possible. We will also offer special packages throughout the year as well, including weekend passes and full event passes at a discount.   This will also give us the flexibility later in the year to add events to the schedule as more venues gain access to internet connections that will allow us to deliver a quality broadcast.  As it has always been, we will still continue to provide free audio to all of our customers.

When you reregister for the site you will get a conformation email to activate your account.   If you do not receive this email check your spam folder.   If you are still experiencing issues just drop us an email at [email protected] and we can get you all set up.

We also want to take this time to thank all of our loyal customers for their support over the last 10 years. Customer service is our number one priority, and bringing our customers the best possible broadcast we can is important.   We are excited to expand and look forward to bringing you even more shows in 2014.

Well Dirtvision I have supported you for those years, and now it's time to say,"GOOD BYE!!!"

Word is spreading fast out here in California ,and it wont be long before you see the repercusions of your changes.

You could have just raised the subscription price a little ,and it would still be growing, but you had to get greedy.

That doesn't fly in the racing family......

Oh and at this time I would to say,"Thanks for a great 10 years Dirtvision, and GOOD LUCK with your future."

LATER.

I too have been a supporter of Dirtvision for years. Now they have increased the cost of their PPV. Just like the tickets prices charged for the Outlaw Shows. To the point me not being able to afford them. There are good PPV offered that aren't as expensive. I will be watching less Dirtvision this yr. Its to bad I enjoyed watching. Good Luck Dirtvision I think you might need it!

The live audio is still free, fans can still register and listen to every audio broadcast at no cost. The individual events and weekend packages are still going to be offered for less than what others in the dirt racing industry are charging for live video streaming. In order to stay out on the road and do these shows, this is a change that had to be made. Event packages are still well under the cost of what it would be to go out to the racetrack. We hope fans will continue to utilize DIRTVision.com for live coverage of the World of Outlaws. As always, feel free to email us at [email protected] if you have questions or concerns.

As common as it is.. everyone complains for something that cost them much less than it would to go to the actual event...  I'll pay the $70 to watch the FL races vs paying to go to the event...

Thats why you have to option to CHOOSE  what you want to watch, look at the PPV shedule and budget for that event to watch

PPV $70..... Travel to watch event...$300 fuel, $350 hotels, $150 food.... easy choice here

Try XSAN for All Stars at Ocala and 360's at East Bay, $35 for 3 nights each. Pretty good deal IMO.

$35 for three days vs $70 for six days of racing - don't see a difference there...  The first week of Volusia covers all the All Star and WoO sprint races and the second week is just latemodels and mortifieds.

Looking at their live video schedule for this year looks like there's a lot more races being offered. To expect all of that and improved race coverage/production values for the same price as last year unfortunately is a bit unrealistic.

I agree... If you want all 5 nights, or are able to watch all 5 nights.  Ala carte, the races are $21.99 per night on dirtvision. on the fence whether to buy or not right now.

Does the Dirtvison streaming feed work on the Linux OS with Firefox or Chromium?  Youtube works as do most other video feeds but there are some such as Netflix I'm not having any success with.  I haven't looked into this since making the switch but I believe I might be able to run an older version of MSIE on the Wine emulator.  Just wondering if anyone with Dirtvision runs Linux and can answer my question before I reach for the CC.

Anyone complaining about dirtvision on hear has the same IQ as a possum. Like multiple people on the thread have said, buying any package or race is going to be way cheaper than attending. As usual though everyone wants more for the same price. That's not how the world works people.

Dirtvision has always had great customer service from my own experiences. I have bought a few packages where the quality was horrible, and due to the bad experince they allowed me to watch the next live race for free. A lot of businesses would just say too bad so sad.

All you crybabies are a bunch of cheap asses.

*here

You should read the thread again before tossing out insults.

"Everyone wants more for the same price."

I think most of us usual season pass customers wouldn't have a problem paying more since their schedule is almost doubled this year.  In fact, they've raised the price on it the last couple years, if I'm not mistaken, as they've continuously added more broadcasts each season.  That's not the issue.

Many of us don't have a local/home track that we can attend every weekend.  Maybe there's not a chance to get to see the WoO anywhere nearby but once a year, if that.  That's what the appeal was for the season pass.  If I know that I'll be able to catch 10-12 races (weather and tech difficulties aside) throughout the season for ~$70 and I'm ok with that, wouldn't it be reasonable to assume that 20-24 broadcasts @ ~$140 should be an option for customers?  Offer something to attempt to continue customer loyalty.

Instead, those of us that did catch those 10-12 shows each season will now have to spend more $$ for the same amount of shows.  Hypothetical, but I don't imagine that the single night PPV's will be ~$7 a pop. Now, how many of us past season pass customers do you think are going to pony up more money for the same product?

Please tell me more about "how the world works."

Offering a season pass would be an economical option for some folks ... but that would offer absolutely no incentive for DV to add races when opportunity arises during the year.

This is very disappointing. Last year LOTS of us spent good money on DV shows and season passes. Many of the races had problems with playing smoothly or at all. We never got any sort of refunds.

Season pass was what, $70 only a year ago? And now we have to pay that much just for one event over several days? Wow.  You should send all your customers a free jar of vaseline.

And almost all of us are having problems even registering or logging in or anything. I sent an email this morning explaining how their broken website wont even let me register. Im getting no confirmation emails and Im not doing anything wrong.

A real slap in the face to us mostly poor, blue collar sprint car fans who cant hardly afford to go to a real race anymore.

Season pass is a must for something like this. Whoever is in charge at DV really messed up this time. Trying to rip us off.  Not even giving us a fair chance to watch races at a decent rate.

If you do offer twice as many shows this year as last (which Im not sure cus I cant even register and see schedule), we would be willing to pay $150, even $160 for a season pass. We arent stupid, no idea why you thought the price would be too high for a season pass to not even offer it... In this economy we are all buying in bulk to save money in the long run...

Ya sure live audio is OK, but what the hell, its not the 1920s and we shouldnt have to huddle around the computer speakers and LISTEN cus we cant afford to watch. Jeez..

I just don't buy the whole "flexibility to add more shows" excuse.  Are they really unaware of which tracks do or don't have sufficient means to broadcast a live stream?  I think not.

They could have offered a season pass for the schedule staples that are proven over the years to work as expected.  Then offer some a la carte broadcasts available for these new opportunities, similar to a dish/cable provider.  There is incentive there, you gain repeat season pass customers as well as the possibility of new subscribers that see the value in purchasing  a good chunk of live streaming races over the course of an entire season.

I think they saw the success of other streaming providers (xsan, the cushion, etc) and decided to run a similar model with the hopes of gaining more $$.  I guess we'll see how it works out for them.

At least you folks are getting some answers, albiet not necessarily the ones you want to hear.  I have asked whether the stream works with the Linux OS a dozen times and my question has yet to be acknowledged.  I test drove a couple of XSAN's free broadcasts of practice nights and their feed works fine so that might be the direction I'll have to go in if my son and I have one of those man cave beer and pizza nights streaming race nights.  I prefer being outdoors at a live race but there are always a few nights when the weather won't allow that and we're looking for something to entertain us.  wink

Outlaws cost $30-$40 for a grandstand seat at every show. If they offer a two night package for $40, then you are getting a deal. Obviously it is not the same as being there, but if you have any friends in the area you could turn that $40 into only costing you $20 or less easily.

Most of us(including myself) probably would not be able to get anyone over and would end up paying the $40 (still fair).

I always bought the season pass but never seemed to be home to watch the live events. This year if i am around doing nothing i might buy an event like the all star races tonight. Probably won't be around next weekend so i won't buy the Volusia event, although $70 for 5 nights of the best sprint car drivers out there is a steal.

Dirtvision sees the numbers come in and obviously the season pass no longer fit their business plan. The only way i see them offering a season pass is if it is around the same as XSAN.tv's season pass which is $250.

I recommend thecushion.com or jackslash.com to all of you. A season pass fits their business plan. They provide highlights of a ton of races, and then thecushion.com offers a 10% discount on any PPV shows.

Season passes for both are around $80 i beleive.
