2 sets for a 410 , 2 sets for a 360? Just taking a guess. Also different lengths and different stepped headers, a lot of factors in headers

I agree with Vande. No reason for any team on a shoe string budget to need 4 sets. To your point, if such a team has 2 360's and 2 410's and runs both and probably has $100k into buying and rebuilding the engines then stop whining about $1k for mufflers. Besides, I assume it's the same muffler for all classes...? So still, why need more than 2 sets. Knoxville has rules. Just like any other track or series. Most of them have the same rules. If you don't like them, don't run there. But to run there and then come on hoseheads and run your mouth and call the place a joke is childish. In my opinion that makes you a joke... and a hypocrite. Knoxville and Schoenfeld handling this, admitting the issue, and opening the gates early to tech and clean up this issue is doing the right thing... not being a joke.

I also agree with Vande.... Koda if you recieved sets that were different when you ordered them. Yet you noticed a defect upon recieving them and said nothing. Spent $$ Dynoing them (you say anyways) and obviously one was a little different in performance than the other right? Yet again said nothing. NOW once Knoxville noticed something and had the mufflers sent to be inspected THEY are the joke? Get real.....

Why need more than 2 sets? Because headers for 360s and 410s are different tube sizes, why would you go to Knoxville and not have a spare set? I mean yea crack a header in hotlaps just load er up because keyboard jockies think you should only have 2 sets of headers, one for your 360 and one for the 410. And I never said the guy ran 2 410s and 2 360s each night, where in the world did you get that from. Its simple you have 1 410 motor you run at Knoxville you need 2 sets of headers for it, you hurt your 410 and drop a 368 in you need 2 sets for it, that equals 4 set.

I also agree with Koda. Why should he be Shoenfelds quality control, he bought the listed and approved mufflers , the # and model are there on the car and three other sets, he has many other things to spend his time on rather than a product overlook , its not his problem, Nor was it the two teams that were inspected , I applaud to most of Knoxvilles ideas for our sport, this one just doesnt happen to strike me as 100% positive,

I copied and pasted the entire article from Knoxville's Website. It did not mention Tony. IMO, just an oversight but I only take the info from their site as fact. Sounds like the whole thing was a fiasco over a couple mufflers that are required this year and bought from the manufacturer.

race was not a fiasco. I was there. they questioned 3 muffler, two found to be legal , and 1 was altered by some one other than manufacturer. The 2 mufflers had a manuf. pr0ble,

. It was not a fiasco, every one was cool and not acting like a jerk. They with held pay check till schoenfeld looked at them.

And since when does a manufacturer admitting to a mistake give a free-pass for a racer using something illegal? If this was a motor that was illegal, would it be ok to send it back to the motor builder and them say "Opps ... we built a 420 by mistake."? Or for a wing manufacturer to say "Opps ... we put a 2" dish in a flat top wing by mistake."?

you are making a big deal out of nothing. Schoenfeld will take care of anyone with a problem. Every muffler was checked tonight. I guess you could compare it to a auto recall. I know most of you want to make a big deal out of a minor thing and bitch, and bitch about it. I was at the races, were you?
