Hey Bad! Maybe instead of running your mouth about the promoter, you should first get the facts. This race was literally promoted by the World Racing Group all by themselves. WRG was also in charge of track prep. If you want to insult people, at least make sure you know which one's to insult. Its a known fact the track sucked thanks to WRG. Hammer them in this case.

Im sure Outlaw officials wanted the track to take rubber in thier heats. I think the blame going around here is directed towards the right people.

And I know for a fact that you do not know what you are talking about then. WRG promoted this race all by themselves and they were in charge of track prep. This is on WRG and WRG only. Ask any outlaw driver or team member who was in charge and PLEASE get back to me when you have your results. WRG had nothing to lose by not redoing the track not to mention they had no one there that actually knew how to do it. The drivers and fans were already there so what would the need be to redo the track. Go ahead and think whatever it is you want to think, but if you would do any amount of research at all on this, you'd find what I am saying is indeed correct. The blame going around here is NOT directed towards the right people.

The tremendous amount moisture in the ground from rains earlier in the week made the pit area treacherous on Friday night and prevented the staff at Silver Dollar Speedway from providing the outstanding racing surface that we normally see,” said Brian Carter, CEO of the World of Outlaws. “The cold wind and steady rain forecasted for this evening leave us little choice but to cancel tonight’s racing. Seems to me "the staff" at SDS dropped the ball regardless of who the promoter was...............

I guess WRG sent people up for silver cup as well just to make sure they would get it right for the outlaws then huh. Track prep was a major issue last year and obviously it has only gotten worse. I talked to a lot of people and everyone said that it is sad that chico has gotten this bad.

So what your saying is that WRG had their officials in the water truck and grader?

Listen - Friday night of the Silver Cup I was there and I thought the race track was fine. It was maybe a little TOO hooked up but I'll take that over slick and dusty any day of the week (yeah I'm sick bastard I know it). Saturday night I had shit to do and it was cold and windy. Track slicked off - mulligan BECAUSE: it was COLD and WINDY. Last night I have no idea what happened but I see no legit excuse. Don't give up on the Dollar! I haven't and you guys shouldn't either. Something else is in play here and we need to keep some faith.

This has been my friday nights since i was 16 years old. I started going here way before that, but when i got a licsense and could drive this was my hang out. Im 35 now. I wont ever give up on the dollar until there is no silver dollar, but the facts are last year only had 17 cars on a friday night, and the track is not getting any better. Then changes here are not for the better. This place is close to not existing anymore, and that thought isnt a good one. At the end of the day, the person who runs the track knows what his or her track needs, and if a big traveling series rolls in saying it should be this way, they are not the ones to listen to.... I really hope someone puts some love back into this track!

who gave WRG control?

who stood by and let WRG prepare such a terrible surface?

who's local reputation is at most danger if they don't have a good show?

you can try to blame anyone you want, the bottom line is that is is the responsibility of the SDS staff to provide a satisfactory product.

if the SDS staff doesn't care enough to ensure a good result for an event at THEIR facility it is THEIR fault.

there is only one reason SDS would pass on the promotion to WRG.....money.

and i don't mean making money, i mean the fear of losing money. if SDS sub leased the place, they were most likely assured a certain amount of money no matter what. they more then likely released themselves from any monetary risk. they may not have had to pay the upfront deposit to get the show on the woo schedule. if nobody showed up, then they more than likely didn't have to worry about any lose.

so to say that SDS is in no way to blame for what happened just doesn't seem to be correct.

let me ask you this, if i am a general contractor and you hire me to do work on your house and i sub the roofing out to someone and the work is bad and the roof leaks who are you going to ultimatly hold responsible? who did you sign a contract with, me or the guy i subbed the job to? i think we know the answer. i am the one responsible to ensure you get a quality finished product.

now when you buy a ticket to the race who are you buying the ticket from? SDS. the ticket is your contract. most tickets say that on them. so you bought a contract from SDS. SDS subbed the job to WRG. SDS is still responsible to you.

let me ask another question. did WRG reconfigure the track?

Times have changed their was a time when only owning a Race car was a expensive but fun hobby over the last few years racing promotors are strugling, I have been dirt track racing longer then most ! Were lucky to still have Chico to race, I attended trophy cup, Completly diffrent race track from the previous year, even after being dispointed this track will be in my opion much more open racing witch will promote excitment for racing Fans. People who wnat to post cry baby post really don't apreciate the good race nights and expect the perfect race every time, You should look in the mirror take a good look at yourself and see your not perfect either nothing is! Don't any of you understand all promotors want the best racing surface every night ? Ok they missed the track Shit happens over the years reading these post I don't recall one time when Chico produce the best Dirt track racing in the US anyone complenting in this forum. Your right get a new hobby.

Something about the Trophy Cup dissapointed you? The format promotes wide open racing and the pride in putting forth a racing surface that allows drivers to compete. There's no comparison its not even close. Chico sucks!

i think the rising cost compounded with what seems to be deteriorating racing over a period of time is what is getting under the skin of fans.

i don't think people are basing their feelings off of just one event.

it is a shame.

and if you were trying to say that over the years you have not heard chico complemented for the good racing they have provided you haven't been listening very well.
