Brian , I need to get you pics and you can post them of my brother in law Jimmy Lancaster when he ran his 6 Cyl.Modified back at the old Ada Raceway and Echo Ranch Raceway in late 60's/early 70's along with many others that ran in that era, like Dick Shelton had the "Widow Maker" car and he just happens to be Blake Shelton (country singers) dad. Jimmy's Wife gave me and Jannie a bunch of pics and programs from that era , she was the Pres. of the Spark Pluggers Club back then , lot of shots of Boots Holder , a young Glen Ownes, and even have some full bodied car pics as well like Ben Lewis and the Lovelis Bros. and Bill Ramey,Gary talked to me about my Wife's brother Jimmy this past Tues. at the get together and how my wife's dad BF Lancaster got a Sissel (Sp??) Head done out in Calif. back then and it was $500+ to get it done and guess that is equivalent to spending $5,000 to $6000 for a set today.

Also Jimmy was the first around Ada to get a true complete Nance front axle assembly and Jimmy did well when he raced but when he became a Dad his racing career was over. Like I said need to get you those pics.

I'll take a shot at the pic above you asking Enid or OKC?? and say 1/4 mile at OKC when it had a guard rail around it still , looks like 1/2 mile in background with fence on outside of it and also billboards across street on May Ave. in back ground as well that still stand/exist there today.

I'd be happy to do it. They had some nice 6 cylinder cars in Ada!

I really dig this one. This was an Ex-Hillenburg 55 Walker build. The torsion bars were inside the framerails. Gary got it straight from the #55 team, and put his Hamm's beer colors on it.

JD:

You are right. It is OKC 1/4 mile. This was Saturday afternoon qualifying for a Sunday NCRA 50 lap race.

Sweet ride here. Gary like Parson's work so much, he had him do his modified up like the Suchy car.
