I wouldnt worry about no equipment at the track for now. Last race was in October and first race of 2011 is in May. I wouldnt leave my equipment out there unattended that long either

I was by there about 2 weeks ago. There are large piles of dirt around the track.

I was told, by sources close to the track (who shall remain nameless), that Longpine removed all of his equipment from the property, including corner lights, PA system (not that it was that great anyhow) and track prep equipment.

Ed will certainly have a lot of work to do to get ready for May 22.

I went and looked today myself, and in addition to the above stated items.......the shed where you got pit passes is gone, the line up board and stand is gone, the portable toilets are gone, and the building where tires were grooved and stored is gone. I'm going to have to agree with bigdaddy07, a lot of work to be done and running out of time.

Nothing against Ed Beckley here at all....

I just think that Enid needs and the racers/owners deserve to race here weekly. Im glad that ed stepped in last year and did what he did but really thought that this year would at least be enough racing to have a points championship. Maybe someone should check and see if C RAY HALL is interested in Enid. One thing for sure is there would be plenty of NCRA shows and i bet racing would happen at least 3 times a month. Again, this isnt anything against Ed Beckley at all....

ED and C R Hall had identical proposals at the board meeting. When the board gave the track to ED.

Just my opinion, but, I am thinking that the reason Ed wants to run "Specials" type races only is to get more butts in the seats on the given nights. Weekly racing, from his perspective, might not generate enough revenue to warrant doing it. Also, he does have other promotions to attend to.

The biggest change that I would like to see with promotions is getting the fair board out of the concessions and allowing the promoters to run and profit from them. This would certainly help with the prospect of holding weekly events again.

Who knows (and it taint likely) maybe the county will consider selling the facility and surrounding areas to an individual or group that would bring the old track back to it's glory.

Its really hard to know what is going on when the promoter flat out lies to you...

i made a statement(facebook)about mudbogs and monster trucks being more important to him than NCRA sportmod shows and he truly took offense to it. Anyway he eventually told me that if i would look at NCRA site I would see that there were several NCRA sportmod shows scheduled for Enid...

So I did look and there are several events listed for Enid Speedway but what he didnt say was that he CANCELLED ALL of THEM. This wasnt a rumor, I got a email from NCRA explaining that ED BECKLEY had cancelled all the NCRA shows... Ummm, maybe USMTS wont show up either....

Im not making this up go to enid speedway facebook page and see for yourself...

Not trying to defend Ed or argue with you but, perhaps the cancellation of the NCRA sanctioned races is due to the face that Ed is trying to bring IMCA santioning in.

I have nothing against Ed at all. He got real thinned skinned when i said something about monster trucks and mud bogging being more important than racecars.... The whole reason for my prior post was because on this past wed he said look at NCRA site there are plenty of sportmod races scheduled and the very next day(thur) I get email(from NCRA) saying that there are no NCRA shows in Enid because Ed cancelled all of them. Makes no sense to say what he did when he already knows that he cancelled them. I hope there will come a time when Enid can get back to racing weekly, i wish the county would give up concessions so that whomever is promoting the track has a chance to make profit. Ed canceled the NCRA shows because C Ray Hall who owns NCRA put a bid against Ed to promote the Enid track. The fairboard decided to give the bid to Ed. LETS GO RACIN!!

If Ed is mad at C Ray for bidding against him that is ok and i have no problem with that where i have the problem with him cancelling them ,it doesnt show much respect to the enid based fans and the racers , because every NCRA Sport Mod show he had last year he had a good car count and a really good grandstand crowd, so why take that away because your mad at someone for bidding against, im a business man and if i ran my business that way i wouldnt be in business long, just a fans point of view, dont penalize us as race fans and racers for you personal feelings

He deleted me because I put his lie out there about still having sanctioned races scheduled with NCRA.... He is a very poor excuse for a supposedly leader... I wish the track wouldve went to C ray Hall, at least there would have been real racing happening....

He will probably ban guys that have the NCRA sticker on their car....LOL

But frankly I could understand the promoter not having a lot of good will for you personally. Now - of course its known you meant no personal offense - but you floated that idea out there that C Ray would have done SOOOOO much more....and in the end of that - you had the egg on your face. C Ray proposed the same deal Ed did.

And now thats just not good enough for you. You floated that out there man. IDK what you are talkin bout with the NCRA stuff. I never heard NCRA was going to run there. I wasn't even thinking of that as a possibility. YOU brought that. You say you put his lie out there about running ncra races? ummm....ok. for one - why lie for someone? lol. secondly - where was it EVER reported there would be ncra races anywhere? I didnt see this on his official schedule. The only talk I heard of it .... came from you.

Maybe this has much to do with the other thread. its too late to freakin read all that tho lol. But I will say - I've always respected your opinion jaydad - and you seem like a down to earth dude - but you, and a few others from your area that get on here....seem impossible to satisfy!!! This should have just died when it was stated they put the same bid in at the same time. your idea of C Ray racing enid weekly fell to nothing there. thats it. shoulda been done. why not just appreciate that you guys have a track? ANd better yet/most of all........why not just talk to the promoter about your ideas instead of running on here and telling on him when he hurts your feelings???

Like I said - without reading the other thread - I just dont know. But it does seem like Beckley could do some good things up there if you guys give it a fair chance. if there's issues to work out - then work the suckers out. and like I wanted to say to you a week ago Jaydad, respectfully, better to have a quality show once a month than 4 crappy weekly shows. you of all people should know this. I don't mean this to be lightning rod post at all - like I said Jaydad - always thought you a reasonable dude so I hope you understand - my only criticism of you is that you appear to be wanting more when you should be happy with and work with what ya got. or sumthin like that. no lie. i'm exhausted lol.
