Everyone else cheated. Seriously though option # 1 factor in that a few were first or second timers. I do beleive CONGRATS. are in Order for KNOXVILLE NATIONALS TOP ROOKIE WINNER DOUG "THE HAMMER" ESH from PENNSYLVANIA !!!!!

Yes, congrats to Esh on The Nationals Top Finishing Rookie Award.

Passed one car going forward all week in 4 races. Its not a slam on Doug, he is more than capable of whooping up back home in PA and has a National Open Title to back that fact up. Just thinking that this year's rookies really left a lot to be desired.

Lee Jacobs was really the best of the crop this year.

Yes - OHIO local (Fremont & Attica) Lee Jacobs did a kick ass job and a blown motor while leading the C-main probably cost him the rookie title. Great job, Lee. Damn shame...

If everyone has to run the same tire how is that an advantage to someone? I mean we aren't talking about experience driving a car...we are talking about experience driving a car on a certain hardness of tire... pretty lame excuse.

I mean I'll give you the wreck as an excuse for Layton but the other guys involved in the wrecks weren't going to do anything anyway and didn't do anything after. And I have to say the only reason the Hammer made the A main on his qual night was because he only had to pass 1 car after the wreck.

I was just as surprised as anyone at how badly they were performing expecting the usual 2 or 3 cars to run well, but bottom line is they just weren't as fast.

If you NEVER run that compound and they run it weekly - don't you think they "might" be more familiar with how it reacts? Call it an excuse, the post is asking why, the k-ville tire rule is in my opinion, what was the big difference as to why the Posse struggled.

The answer will come in next months Sprint Car Midget Magazine when Bruce Ellis delivers plenty of excuses, alibis and 400-500 words of pretzel logic to explain what happened. So, just hang on till then

Don't Knock the Posse, K'ville is not an easy place to go fast if you only run it once a year...if you can't run the low line consistantly well youre not going to be competitive consistantly...it takes a while to figure the braking and throttle control to do this...I've seen several of our K'ville regulars struggle with this..I'm a Knoxville Homer and know this..if our top guys went to the "Open" we would get it handed to us worse than you guys did this weekend

yes vote for me - it is an election year!

my seat in the stands clearly had a bigger impact than that decal on Layton's wing a few years ago? better track conditions than ANY of the 2 previous visits. i will plan future trips around the next tire rule...until then, enjoy.

best race food - cattleman stand ribeye / sweet corn.

the Rahmer fan who insisted i bring and wear this shirt needs to be careful what he wishes for!

glad to see locals in the A main and finishing higher than the WoO shows, maybe the Grove will drop the sanction for tyhe Open and run our rules?

Guys like Rahmer swear up and down they need cockpit adjusters and soft tires to be competitive around here. Live by the sword, die by the sword I say. SC15 and no cockpit adjusters in Central PA would be just fine by me. Open cubic inch displacement with open 15" wide right rear and 13" wide left rear tires would be even better! The track record spec tire hasn't cut costs any, and way too many races are still won off the front row.

I say if Cody (first time even seeing the track)would ve had some more practice then three warm up laps before time trials we would be seeing him in there. Fri night in warm ups on a slower track he turned a 15.1 and stayed on top of the board the entire warm up session. at the end other then the 55 he passed as many cars. this kid will be a great racer

Lance did not do well, therefore he is an All-Star, not Posse.

It costs a minimum of $5,000 to run the Nationals. Fuel for the rig, hotel rooms, tires, expenses, etc. So Hodnett was the only one that even came close to breaking even, although he is a hired gun so his car owners themselves probably still lost money.

The track beat em- isnt that what you all say when the outlaws do bad at the Grove???

So that is what happened- the track beat em.

We are still proud of all our Posse that traveled. Hope they all have a safe trip HOME.

Not saying they made money...just pointing out the fact that with such a rough week for the posse, where else can you get a $1100.00 for running 4th in the D-Main..
