That was a really good feature tonight with Allen-Courtney-Peck dicing it up. The series has kind of an ASCoC level feel to it.

Hopefully Flo takes Earl Hoon soon! It would be the best improvement at Port Royal in many years.

Earl was just on the Flo Broadcast.

He said the Tuscarora 50 winner will get $75,000.

He also said "Go support your local racing".

Good content.   Thanks Earl !

Blake is the worst sprint car announcer.  His catch phrases are annoying as hell.  Blake always tries to make it more exciting then it is, like there a race for the lead down the back chute and the second place car is 15 car lengths back.

I thought that tonight's HL show was huge improvement over Thursday's show in almost every way. Entertaining streamed race.

I thought they did a decent job. Hey, I didn't have to keep reaching for the remote to hit the mute button because of the screaming. Remember, this is new for these guys also. Good win for Jacob last night. Hummm, some thought this was going to be a Brad Sweet, Rico show with kid Kyle coming in to keep the cash in the company.

I watched the replay of Thursday's race and I thought it was lame. The mix of announcers was painful to listen to and the racing product wasn't very impressive either. The next level of sprint car racing appears to be a lower level.

It didn't have the same intenisity level as an Outlaw race and there was a lot of Late Model races to sit through.  It appears that they're trying to merge the two classes and do some shows together.  We saw on Thursday what kind of crowd Sprints draw in Late Model country.  They had a good crowd on Saturday night but likely was made up of mostly Late Model fans from the local area.  Racing was good, not great, not bad.  Fields in the mid 20's and they have a bunch of races coming up where there aren't a lot of 410's.  This will take a full season to see what niche they eventually fill.

The big Husets, Knoxville, and Eldora events will be interesting with the WoO vs HL twist but at the end of the day it's all the same cars and drivers we're familiar with.  The thing that I noted, and maybe this will evolve over the season, is that it didn't have that same tension in the air that the traditional big events have.  They're pretty low key with a lot of support class going on.

Fact. I'm really hoping for that to happen.

Are the owners sandbagging....

Don't know about that but I wonder how many irons someone can have in the fire before it affects performance. Especially in Sweet's case. He's been a helmet bag driver for a long time and has had a sweetheart deal with KKR for most of his career. Running a series is a ton of work and really it's a 24 hrs a day job. There's no offseason break. It's a lifestyle.

It was good to have Chase doing HL on Saturday.. Earl made an appearance. It was not needed.

Why do these announcers think they have to say something cleaver to start the races?  Do they realize how dumb they often sound? Maybe they never listen to themselves? Obviously they don't get constructive feedback either.

I will never understand why they feel the need to exaggerate things?  We can see the race. It isn't radio!  Most of them also talk more than they need to?  Again we have pictures.

It is sad that they can't even get the audio levels of the commercials under control. I just mute them all. Problem solved.

MUTE is the most useful function available.

"The series has kind of an ASCoC level feel to it."

Yep!  The best Division II racing available.

Funny that most of the so called "race fans" bitching about Thursday's announcers have no idea that, as usual, Chase Raudman announced but had guest announcers with him  I dont know, two unknowns in the late model world...Tim McCreadie and Brandon Overton.  Damn, so many stupid people on here.  So far, I'll take HL over World of Douchebags every time.

I thought they did great on Saturday. My grading system is - "Did they annoy me?" - That was an "A".

AMEN on announcers. WoO (DirtVision) tv production is better. I wonder if the principals watch the replays?  They need guidance badly.
