Steve needs to prove himself to you? As if you're his keeper and his grader on what makes the track good, great or bad. He doesn't, nor does anyone, need to prove Jack to you. The accolades, awards, and praise speak louder than any stupid post you can type up to get your jollies.

Also, this "prep the track correctly" stuff is just plain stupid. I think what you mean is "prep the track how I would". There's no correct way to prep a track. There's no perfect method or way. Every track in the country is prepoed differently and unless you sat in the stands last weekend an hour after the racing was over abd never left all week until Saturday, I'd bet my entire life salary you can't tell me what he did different, the same  or newb this week from last. Despite your constant calls for water...theres more to prepping a track then just add water. It's a science, not a chia pet.

Yes, he does!  If he can't keep it the way it has been the last couple of weeks.  I can spend my money at other tracks Lincoln, Selinsgrove, Williamsgrove, Eldora, and maybe Baps....to many other choices if he goes back to the way it was.

Nope all the other tracks I attend can get it right more than about 75% of the time.  Knoxville get there right about 95% of the time. In the last few years.....Steve is lucky if he is batting 25%.  The last two races were awesome and why it is because the lap times were in the 15 second bracket at the beginning of the night.

So tell me.....what did he do. Lay it out There for all of us do we can know how to prep port royal. Give us a step by step procedure. How many laps in the grader, which direction do we go (front or backwards), how much sheeps foot, did he use the mattress? How many shovels should we use. How much downtime between hitting the track. The gridiron, rutters, oip or homemade sandwich for lunch, or maybe it's not break at all. Off on Wednesday? Please...explain to use in more words than "just add water" on how port royal or any of the tracks to be exact prep their track

He has been doing it the last couple of weeks.  He should know by now that makes for more exciting racing.  With how tight they roll these tracks today and that is another story.  You need to add more water than you think.  The last two weeks they added more water....even though they will lie and say they didn't.  H2O is the biggest key in track prep to getting it right.  As far as the grader and sheeps foot and pounding the track into submission, don't really have anything to add.....the track is smooth all nights other than it being too dry, except the last couple of races.

It should never ever be hard, black, dry right after warmups.  The track should always have grip through the heats and it should change a lot during the feature.  No, I don't care about the dust! I would rather have dust than it being asphalt for most of the night of racing.   I can't stand it when the cars are on a slip and slide all night long.

I'm not a fan of 1/2 mile tracks at all, and have never been to any of the PA tracks, and haveprobably never met any of the HH clowns.  But I do have Flo and watch all the PA races on there.  From the garage or living room chair, I would say Port Royal is by far the track I would go to at this point if I had to pick one PA track.  And I'm not a fan of big tracks.  Kudos to them and what they have done over the last year and a half that I've been watching.
