Sure. And if no one buys gas this week, Exxon Mobile will be broke by the weekend. They'll be begging you to buy gas at $1.99.
|
Probably not there's a hell of a lot more people that are buying gas but not near as many going to midget or non-wing sprint car shows

What if the future of the sport revolves around pay per view/ TV audiences, and not live audiences?...like every other sport.

the online watching of racing certainly will play a part of a tracks bottom line and the amount that it plays may be bigger than any of us know. But you lose so much when watching racing online, much more so than all other sports. Racing attacks all of the senses in person, other sports not so much.

Exactly. I'm a huge basketball fan, but I don't mind watching on TV.
Sprint cars? LIVE is MUCH better, tho I watch online too

Agreed, nothing like a live race. But the reality for all of us is we can't follow our favorite tours to every race as much as we'd like to, and streaming allows you to follow the action much more closely than a 5 minute YouTube and press release after the race. I feel like i know the ins and outs of the WoO and Allstars far more now than ever before.

Aproaching my later years, Im not so sure the knowing a lot more ins and outs, more about the driver etc is always a good thing. Between twitter and PPV Fans sometimes know and see Way too much and often it's taken out of context.
And you even got Announcers make up DRAAAMA..
All of this does not make racing any more popular to me than it was back with NONE OF THAT Dick Gaines era. The racings good, Its good, The racings bad, Still better than being at home or work.
I do like that you can watch most of the races. I almost always go to at least one a week and come home and watch one or two more. if it's not way late. Or I can catch the CRA at heat race time when my show has ended and driven home already.

From the location of the races, looks like they'll be taking more teams fron POWRi than from USAC....nothing in Indiana, mostly Missouri & Illinois

conflicts with USAC sprints in Wisconsin. I'm not against either series and hope both are super successful, but in my opinion even this one weekend could stir stuff up if a strong local Indiana team runs Pevely instead of going USAC

They will be on the program with the WOO Late Models at I-55. I think that the track would like to draw the kind of crowd they do for the Outlaw winged sprints and the midgets show.
