Racing has been fantastic the last two nights for what it's worth.   Talked to quite a few people and almost everyone is from out of the area, but have loved their Husets/ South Dakota experience .

I've only been able to watch from the tube but I've enjoyed the Flo broadcasts.  I hope this event sticks around, I may have the time to see it live next year. The car counts could be better but the quality is there. A must see event for me if it continues.

Not trying to be a smart ass here but just looking at the map,  almost everyone would HAVE to be from out of the area in order to get a couple thousand sprint fans in one place at the same time.

Not really. There's probably a quarter million people within a half hour's drive.

Did they have enough seating for those die hard fanatical rabid non-wang fans?

Not the first time I seen a promotor take a bath.  But probably the biggest.    Track was pretty empty too for mondays race which included wangs.

Shame is,  The track and racing were spectacular.

Only way I see this working is pair it with the Knoxville Non Wing Nationals to make it all in the same week.   Kinda tough for even those with Vacation time to take off between two different weeks.

Even the Showdown didn't do that well, although not to the magnitude of this deal. I think the regular WoO show in August was the best attended race of the whole season.

I think if they wanted to do it again, you'd have to have in the summer, I think they wanted to wait until the local Indiana tracks finished their seasons, which is nice, but a small Indiana team doesn't have the budget to go to South Dakota to race. And i think you'd have to pair it with a winged sprint show.

It's a shame because the racing was really good, but this show was a head scratcher when it was announced and all the fears of having a bad crowd were realized.

Tod does very little to no promotion of Husets in the city of Sioux Falls, he just thinks people will show up. Thats not the case, plus who wants to sit there for 5 Hours on a school night.

Quick $$ Break Down for a family of 2 Adults, 1 Teenager, and a 9 Year Old.

Tickets - 3 x $35 = $105 (9 yr old Free)

Food - 2 Nachos $19 = $38

who knows how outragous the other prices of concessions are, but to bring your family and get 2 ok nachos you are already at $150.

They had Monster Trucks at the Fairgrouds, which seems to be full stands every show they had....However their promotors where on the radio, stopped by a TONNN of local business and dropped off Free Kids Tickets.

The Area also had the Biggest High School Football Games on Friday and Saturday, had Alan Jackson playing last night, plus a few festivals in Downtown Sioux Falls all weekend.

Plenty of opportunity to advertise, promote, and get fans out. I just simply didnt see an effort.

Lastly, this isnt non wing territory, fans do not show up unless its 410 Wings...everyone saw that last week when it was a Ghost town for a 10k 360 show. Much like this isnt Late Model territoy either....there is a reason the WoO LateModels, Lucas Oil Late Models, USMTS do not come to the Sioux Falls Market.

I heard some people talking that Tod was not the promoter for this event it was Matt Wood.  So bascially the track was rented out. I'm not sure how accurate that informtion is just what I heard.

Still Mute to the Point...Tod does none to very little promotion of Huset's, hence the small crowds, and smaller crowds as the season went on.

At the end of the Day its his Name (Huset's and Tod) that looks bad.

It was the USAC Nationals at Huset's Speedway with no crowd

Not the USAC Nationals at Matt Woods Huset's Speedway

The average fan, which thats who you are going after doesnt care who rented out a track or not.

Do you look at who the concert promotors are in any town before you go to a concert? I highly doubt it, if its a bad show or a low attended concert, its usally the Venue that gets the blunt of it even tho they rented out the building to said concert promotor.

Who Owns Huset's?

Who hasnt ran a timely ran show all year?

Who provides a rubber down racetrack almost weekly?

Who is reasonible to promote their venue on a yearly and weekly bases?

Who sells the advertising at the track? That I am sure they Highlight their Biggest shows for the max amount of ROI of people to see said advertisement?

If there was some fancy resturant in town, that you constently had to wait a long time, horrible service, and always had cold food would you continue to go back?

Would you go to said resturant even those a "Famous" chef came in one weekend? I doubt it becuase ever other time you had Shit service..

You must like how Jackson is run, becuase that's where Husets will be in the next 2-3 years, 2/3 specials a month and thats about it.

Who Promoted Cheaters Day all year to Axe it at the last minute?

has no one done the math.

if there were 2000 people a night average at the minimum of 35 bucks a ticket x 3 = $210,000.00

so that covered the purse. the pits took care of themselves I am sure. So it was not a total bath,

Sunday was close to a weekly show my son told me. so even if there were not 2000 people Fri and Sat nights Sunday filled in the numbers. was it a total success no. But it was not a total failure either. I did not go because the prior week i did 2 of the 3 nights of the 360's. and that was a hit on the checkbook. My opinion on all tracks all these specials are hurting a weekly show. There is only so much money a fan can put out. Last night we went to Spencer for 35 bucks(10 fair entrance + 25 bucks for the ticket) was steep but damn that feature made ya kinda forget what ya spent and there was a hell of a crowd. I know I would hate to live out in Posse country with all the big shows they have shit you would need 3 jobs and then you would not be able to attend because you are working all the time. Like i said it is cool to see all the big shows but it hurts the weekly deal. IMO

There was not 6000 people that walked through the front gate this past weekend.

Weekly Racing is killing the specials...Nobody is going to go to a Special Event when a poorly ran weekly show is what they get treated with.

There are few tracks in the Country that run Weekly 410/360 racing and theres a reason why.

Hummm, interesting to note that Haubstadt gave up on weekly shows years ago...

This is a huge problem, Huset's just doesn't get a crowd any more at all. 410s, 360s, wings, nonwings none of that really matters, the end result all season has been the same.

You can say its lack of promotion but there have been plenty of radio/TV ads this summer and the SF media has always been pretty good to local racing.

I haven't heard/seen any ads for Hartford and that place is doing very well.

I was at Spencer last night too and the crowd there was much, much better then what I have seen at any Husets weekly race this year.

Not sure what the problem is but I hope it gets corrected.

I was at 2 of the USAC nights, very good racing, empty stands. I hope that event returns.

FWIW Husets is having a Lucas Oil LM race next year.
