How is it beneficial to cheat with thinner tubes on the frame? You save some weight on the frame and add it back in a more strategic spot in order to make the minimum weight. Does it make that big of a difference? Are you saving 10-15 pounds or is it "way" more than that? Is there some other reason to do this?

More flex in the chassis can equal better handling

Chassis flex, set up, weight, and other factors all add up.
Think of it as adding rosin to a baseball, doesnt do to much, but still just enough to get the ball movement spinning a little more, a little more grip, just a little more advantage, to strike out a batter.

A-Aron needs to go back to 360s where everybody cheats and nobody worries about any rules.

I don't know about chassis's nor do I know A-Aron; however ... it was mentioned earlier in this post that they were using an "old" chassis that had been made to look new. I believe a few years ago the chassis makers were all required to change the thickness of their tubing after a few had gotten hurt. Wondering if this was one of those old cars? Just hate to blame chassis maker for a teams' or a persons dumb decision without knowing the truth.

They knew what they were doing. The car passed inspection and they took the "Passed" sticker and put it on a different frame. Nobody should be blaming the chassis maker.

To me, it should be pretty simple when a chassis is found to be to thin it show be confiscated and returned to the builder to determine if the test is correct. If it is then said chassis should be destroyed. No screwing around with safety. Whey let any team by with it. If it is known to be to thins get the sawsall out and take care of the problem,.

It will be nice that Reutzel will still be able to listen to the races since he lives in Knoxville now.

This chassis was a personal chassis of Aaron. He brought with him to the 83 car. Roth was not aware of it, but Aaron and crew knew full well what they did. They painted the chassis with magnetic paint to make it thicker and seem legit. Then took a sticker off another approved chassis and put on this one. This isnt the first time he has been caught. Sucks but he knew what he was doing and what was going to happen.

Will there be a suspension? Would it apply to Knoxville? My understanding is that Outlaws saction is in name only. Knoxville makes the calls.

According to the lawsuit Doug Wolfgang filed. Even with the "sanction" of the Nationals. Iowa is a right to work state, and with racecar drivers being basically private contractors. They couldn't enforce a ban or suspension in Iowa at the time. They may have made other changes to laws or wordings since then. But if not and brought to court in Iowa I don't think the Outlaws would win this time either just due to the precedent set by the first. Not all states are right to work states so in other states they would have no problem enforcing a ban or suspension.

If alegations prove true, he should be out indefinently. It's one thing to push the gray ares of the rulebook, but to intentionally try to re-use an approved sticker from a different chassis that had passed ramps this one up just a wee bit.

It's actually nice to see someone pushing the envelope with these cookie cutter cars.
That's my hot take

And while not condoning cheating, it sure beats your typical Tuesday/Wednesday cookie cutter press releases too

My guess is since Reutzel has not been leading popularity points by a long shot there were more than enough sources reporting the infraction to officials. It really shows an impressive level of arrogance to be doing this shit given how good the opportunity to drive for Roth Motorsports is and still doing it knowing how Dennis doesn't fuck around when he decides to fire somebody. It's not like this is a well kept secret.

I'm not a Reutzel fan but.... is this testimony to the pressure put on drivers/crew chiefs to win?

Where are all you "in the know" people getting your information from? Is this on Facebook, Twitter, someone's official website?

This isnt the first time there have been rule infractions. Weight will get you disqualified as it is the easiest rule to enforce. Too thin of chassis bars is a safety issue.Contary to what some think there have been rule violations in the past and usually nothing happens except for the the weight or tire infractions which are black and white. Big motors, fuel, traction control are non existant but in reality they do exist.Due to the number of true outlaws they need everyone when they run in areas that dont have many 410s. Odd only winners seem to be accused. Reutzel is an aggressive driver and the incident with Wayne hasnt helped his P.R. plus Roth expects results.

so my question is if AR is doing it, are there more? i would imagine that rules may change again after this incident to keep everyone on the same page when it comes to cheating, "don't do it" cuz if you do, you will pay dearly! suspension is in order along with the removal of "any" credibility the AR may have had. i would also think that teams will see him in a much different perspective...
Ascot was the greatest of all time..
West Capital wasn't half bad either..
Life is good...
