I would be devastated and forever hold a serious grudge if the NASCAR Truck Race were to cancel out the Real Show on Saturday!!!

At the end of the day racing is entertainment, something to do on a Saturday night.  Nothing to hold a life long grudge over.  Always have a plan B, whether that's watching a streaming race or going to the bar to check out a band or even Netflix can be fun.  Get frisky with your best gal, throw something on the grille and have a cold barely pop.

If that doesn't work get some counseling and add a few new things to your life besides Sprint Car racing.  I am worried about you, perhaps somebody should come over and stay with you until the depression lifts and you can face another day without a race.

Same boat as Glen. Ready for USAC and 410 wings but really not that interested in NASCAR. Doubt I go but I won't rule it out. Forecast is hard to predict. I'd say being July chances of actual rain are slim and they find a time slot to do both. Now if that becomes Sunday for the sprints and severely limits the crowd and car I am not sure but sure hope not. Let the trucks run Saturday during the day. They are used to running on pavement so rubber down won't be an issue.

Remember last year for the corn belt. Zero percent chance of rain, what did it do rain we got out of there at 3 or 330am. 335 miles home by 8 am. Made for a long day. barely remember the A-main

I remember it very well!!! Awesome night for this guy. Me and two buddies sat on the top row of the grandstands on the back stretch. Hung out in the HOF until the track was worked in after the rain. Froze my butt off because as my dad always says you shouldnt need a coat to go to the races in July. That night was the exception. Wife asked if I seriously was gonna stay when I said they would start around 11-12 and end around 2-3. Well of course I am I told her!

Edited after proof reading it. Sometimes at work and on a small phone typing correctly can be difficult. Made sense in my head.

With the forecast looking like rain on Friday what will Knoxville & Nap car do if the nap car gets rained out on Friday will it just be canceled will it move to Saturday night and cancel the USAC show would like to no so I can make plans on Saturday night         Glen Murra

Would you really want to cancel the USAC show as it has more apeal to us open wheel fans.  If NAscar IS RAINED OUT THEY ALWAYS RUN NEXT DAY, OR THE NEXT DAY, OR THE NEXT DAY TILL COMPLETED.  kNOXVILLE WILL RUN CARS AT 2 IN am IF THEY HAVE TO,  tHEY HAVE IN PAST. usac IS NOT A PIDDLY ASS LITTLE GROUP AND THEY SHOULD GET RESPECT AND BE ABLE TO RACE IF AT ALL POSSIBLE.  wE ALL HOPE IT WORKS OUT.

pLEASE EXCUSE MY TYPING, i NEVER LOOKED AT SCREEN TILL DONE AND AM TO LAZY TO DO IT OVER

It doesn't look good... at all. But I don't think they make an announcement until it's actually rain day of the race within the typical time frame needed to prep the track unless the Friday morning showers are a complete wash. Maybe a window on Saturday afternoon for trucks and then Sunday afternoon to evening looks like a potential. The logistics are anyone's guesses. it's easy for me being close but feel for those coming from far off.

I hope they race.  I'll be traveling all the way from the kitchen to the family room and pressing the power button on the remote.   Beats the time my son and his first wife and I drove all the way down there in the 90's and ran into rain at Ankeny when it wasn't in the forecast.  Turned around and tried to make it to Jackson until we saw haulers heading east on I90.  Twelve hours of windshield time and we didn't see any races that night.  It was long enough ago that we didn't have cell phones and we used to get caught driving long distances fairly often back then.

Fastest time in practice was a little over 22 seconds! I'll stay home. I can go to Osksloosa on Wednesday nights if I want to watch street stocks race at those speeds.

I understand what you're saying about lap times, and speeds etc. But if I was close enough to go and see it in person I would be there asap just for the atmosphere, spectacle and the chance to cheer on the dirt guys against NASCAR's upcoming stars. What if Donny, PPM or browny won, I bet in 5/10/25 years you'll be jealous of all the people still talking about how Donny drove around the outside on the last lap to win a NASCAR race.

That works out to about 84 mph average. I bet they're topping 90mph on the straights! Smile

Running the Sprints on Sunday is not an option.   USAC is starting a Central States Midget Week Sunday night in Missouri.   It is the first of 5 nights of midget racing next week in the Central States.    The midgets are starting to grow in this area and USAC and POWRi battle over the turf.

I watched practice last night and they did fine on a rubbered up daytime track and they actually prefer that.  The trucks could race in the afternoon and give them long enough to work the track for the night races.  If rain nixes the whole thing we can watch the WoO at Wimot, All Stars at Sharon, or if every race possible rains out we can go to a local track or do something else besides racing this weekend.  Always have a plan B when chasing an outdoor sport and don't go into a damn depression when they can't race.  Why is that so complicated?

I've been dedating in my mind which would be better to do Indiana sprint week or Central States Midget week I'm a little worried about the car count for the Midget I wish we had both non wing sprint & midgets in Southern Minnesota      Glen Murra   ( PS A lot of people around here are looking forward to the USAC show at Husets )

I would have to think with the money and TV package the NCWTS Knoxville is getting, they are going to make that series their number one priority. Like it or not, it's all about the Benjamins!

No. Sprint car regulars are Schatz, Brown and Price-Miller. Schatz was 4th in practice. Brown 9th. Price-Miller 26th. I also see Kyle Strickler on the entry list.

I live up in Forest Lake and me and a friend used to get our Midget fix by going to Angell Park a couple times a year.  We both took photos in the infield which used to be pretty cool when they had the guardrails and they'd whiz past so close we could have slapped the driver up side the helmet.  I've been to several Fireman's Nationals and listened to "Happy Trails" several times.  It wasn't that bad of a drive and they get done relatively early on Sunday nights.  There isn't any Midget racing that's worth chasing in Minnesota.  One year Cedar Lake tried running them for two nights in their arena and the fumes were so bad they had to stop a couple races and open the doors.  That was the last Midget race I remember seeing up here.  I was in the middle of the track both nights and my eyes burned for a week afterwards.  Sun Prairie is the place to go or if you're really ambitious Indiana Midget week would be cool.  Go ahead and travel there and I'll stay home and watch on Floracing.  Let me know if it was worth the drive and expense.  I travel alone, do all the driving, pay for the motel and sit alone in the stands so road trips for races are a waste of time and money for me these days.

I'm rather old. In 25 years I'll be dead.
