It won't be canceled, Knoxville is already racing with fans in the stands. Now will it be altered (format, payout etc) id say extremely likely as they won't have a full crowd.

So if the 2020 state fair was "postponed" when are they having it? "Postponed" means its going to be held at a later date. If the 2020 fair is rescheduled to 2021, when will they be having the 2021 state fair?
Just call it what it is, the 2020 Iowa State Fair was cancelled, not postponed.

Just posted what the state fair board said.

My opinion is the nationals are going to be cancelled.
A few things that needs to be considered. A large amount of tickets are bought thru renewal every year. If you try to reduce capacity how do you handle that? Telling fans that have had tickets for years that you can't come even thou you have bought them already.
My parents have already decided even if they have the nationals they are not going. They are in the age and health catagory that this virus has been really hard on. They have been long time ticket holders, do you screw over some of your fan base just to run this year? That could affect tickets sales in the future if people feel like they got hosed over.
I went to the opener last week and the wife and I walked in wearing masks. I looked around and nobody else was wearing them and nobody was following any distance rules. Only the front chute stands were open and the back never did open, little dissapointed in Knoxville for that. I told the wife screw this and we walked right back out. Watched on dirvision from the parking lot for a little while and went home.
I thought of the hosehead member who stated a while back something about I will let the f@ckers not wearing masks complete the science experiment. I am sure the antimask crowd doesn't think they work but I have first hand experience at work with a positive case. Its mandatory masks at work and guess what, nobody else got it and several of us were exposed.

Racetrack clearly stated they would only open the backstreach seats after they had sold 3750 tickets.

I would like to add a bit of "out of town" logic to this one.. First of all from my seat on dirt vision, i'm looking forward to a good race at the Nationals. Now to the more serious part.. Please leave your politics out of this for just one moment... If you present to people this logic.. We put roll cages on the cars to protect our drivers. lets just until its no longer needed.... put mask on our fans so we can protect them and maybe future races.. If we say come to knoxville, but wear a mask. Full stop... Then you can be sure to come back for years to come....along with the couple sitting in front of you...Just a thought...

Very good point. But there are too many people who don't give damn, if they spread it to others. Me and my wife, who
is in a very high risk group, can't go because of this. Unless the racetrack makes it manditory, many people won't wear
one. Bob Wagner

I wear a mask when needed. However, most of the mask don't help one little bit and will not help with the spread of this virus. Knoxville is by far the best race track.
Let's go Sprint Car Racing!
Knoxville - Best Track In the USA!
Eldora - 2nd Best Track in the USA!

Because the US has done 24,000,000 tests and the next closest country is Russia at 14,000,000 test and the rest of the nations are below 6,500,000 tests? Turns out majority have already had it. The more tests, the more cases. You can make these numbers support any side of nearly any argument.

I just came from night 1 of Outlaws double header. I sit in the suites on Hall of Fame side in turn 2. Masks and social distancing are totally non existant. Our suite was packed. People from other suites were there. Everyone acts like covid is a big joke. I think we will see a big spike in covid cases. Nationals will be canceled for sure when this happens.
You can tell an ass... but, you can't tell 'em much

We're trying to decide which way to go this year. One concern is that there's no way there will be reserved seats. We've been going for over 25 years and have great seats next to a lot of friends we've made over the years. With no reserved seats, I see long lines forming very early to get in a mad scramble to get the choice seats. I'm afraid unless you get there really early you may be on the bottom row.
As far as the covid thing, there seems to be two groups. Those that are cautious, maybe compromised in one way or another and want to limit their exposure. The other is the virus be damned, full speed ahead, who cares, let's go racing group. How about this for a solution; open the back stretch to the first group; masks required, no concessions, but you can bring in a small cooler with refreshments. This would limit exposure through fewer lines and less movement. Open the front stretch to the latter group; no masks required with full concessions. This means more beer and food sales and more lines accordingly. This doesn' solve the dash for good seats, but sets up a choice for more cautious vs. more open, carefree seating environment. Just a thought . . .

"majority has already had it...". Please show me your source. I have not seen one credible report claiming majority have ready had. Silly

Common sense would tell people that are "at risk" to stay home!
The rest of us want to go on with life.

If you don't have a n95 mask you are wasting your time. All other mask are basically usless to stop any virus.

They never claimed they stopped the virus. They said they help limit the distance the virus can be sprayed from your breath/cough/sneeze, etc. One example given by a doctor was this: Turn your garden hose on full blast and shoot it across the driveway. Notice how far it goes. Now, put a strainer in front of the stream. The water doesn't stop. However, instead of spraying all the way across the driveway, it only goes 1/3 to 1/2 way across the driveway.
The masks do serve a purpose. That said, the mask is for you and not for me wearing it. If I walk into a place and see no one wearing a mask, I don't put a mask on to protect you if you are not concerned. If I walk into a store, etc and see someone wearing a mask, I'm assuming they are concerned and I put my mask on out of respect for them---because I think it does LIMIT the spread.
I was at Knoxville this weekend for the Outlaws. I never felt like I was in close contact with anyone for more than 5 seconds. I did not put it on while at the track. I put it on going into a couple of stores where I saw others wearing them. I did not put it on at Dingus beer garden. I'm not overly concerned about getting this virus myself. However, I will respect those who are frightened and are in the higher-risk category. If I see someone with a mask on, and I'm not wearing mine, I steer clear out of respect as well.
Is that fair enough?

I'm a long time Knoxville fan that is also in the comprimised group that cannot afford to be exposed to the Covid. As soon as I explained my situation to the ticket office folks, Marion County refunded my money for 5 four night tickets a month ago. I love this sport as much as anyone else but one year missed is worth living for many more.
For all the folks who are unconcerned about getting the virus and not protecting others around you: You are causing the businesses you love to lose money on customers that do a 180 when they see a lack of concern for folks with age and health reasons for distancing.
Please think about not running people off with selfish behavior. Yes, it's your right to not wear a mask, but it also my right to not spend money where we elders feel unsafe.
Nuff said.

One question I would have is if I only want to go Saturday night to limit exposure can I refund the first 3 nights and keep Saturday. Also would I still be eligible for renwal of my seats next year?
Also do they have dirtvision broadcast the qualifying nights? I could those from home then drive up Saturday and watch live.

The USA is a very large country. per capita Spain, UK, France, Italy, Sweden, and Belgium all have higher per capita deaths. If the USA had those countries per capita deaths it would be around 250k.
