March 27, 2007 (Jackson, MI) Rusty Schlenk Racing hit the track for the first time in 2007 to a start he wasn't all that happy with. "We can't seem to get a hold of the car." was what he had to say after a lackluster outing at the Clarksville Speedway in Tennessee. Rusty still pulled into the top 10 with a 6th place finish. The team scrapped the rest of the weekends plans and headed back to Jackson to work on the car and get it set up better. For the weekend of the 23rd and 24th it was on to Paducah and back to Clarksville. Rusty still hit the top 10 with an 7th pace finish at Paducah but the team still didn't have a handle on the new Rayburn. Rusty set fast time in qualifying at Clarksville where he was 2 tenths off the track record. "I was going so fast that I hit a rut in the turn and almost flipped the car over." is what Rusty had to say about that lap. "We called Rayburn's and got a little advice about the set-up and it really helped.". Rusty was cruising in the A main when a lapped car spun out in front of him and instead of stopping decided to come back onto the racing surface and took him out. "He wanted to do donuts in the middle of the track rather than pull off so he busted our rear end up pretty bad taking us out of the race." is all Rusty had to say about that. He still was credited with an 8th place finish so his streak of top 10 finishes is still intact. Rusty is off to the Belle-claire and Highland speedways for the weekend of the 30th to continue his quest for the UMP National Points Championship.
