The brother and I decided to skip the February races at Volusia for two nights a few days ago.

Volusia always has amazing races even when thousands of modifieds are there.

This past weekend was by far the best.  The weather was perfect... flip flops, shorts,  and hoodies. Every feature was badass fast and scary in person.  These drivers are so good right now.

The support class was the perfect size field with fun racing.  The perfect support class for a quick show.

The fans there were great.  The pool we snuck into on Monday afternoon was the perfect temperature.

I love dirtvision but after watching the highlights the next morning, it just doesn't come close to how amazing it is watching 410 sprints go around that place.

It was a perfect weekend if you can call it a weekend.

No doubt about it

Not just the ability to see the whole race, but the spectacle itself.... noise, colors, speed, crowd... like being inside a pinball machine

Oh yea, fragrance of burning methanol too.... wink

I know I will get hosed foe saying this but races were not the greatest.  It  was start on the pole and win.  There was good racing back in the pack.  Track was not very wide and car count was not good.
