If a guy wants to get into 305 sprint car racing, what injection system is the better choice?
Is Hilborn, Kinsler, or Engler better than the other?
Any thoughts from Kelly Wesphal or other in the know?

Kinsler makes a Raptor injection specifically for the 305 engines, as does Hilborn, they make their Mega 305 injection. Not sure about Engler, though I am sure they now do. The ports are made to match the racesaver heads on those injections, standard 360 injections do not work too well with them. If running an open type 305 deal, others might work a little bit better depending on how close the ports are.

We've rebuilt two 305's with Hilborns and built one new 305 with the Raptor. The Raptor was far more superior BUT keep in mind the Hilborns were older used models.
Haven't had a 305 with Englers, but I'm sure they are right there with the Raptors as Tim has nice stuff.

Far superior in what way? More torque, HP or both? I have had an engine bulder tell me, with a straight face, that the Raptor produced 25 more HP, but that seems as unlikely as those 535 HP racesaver engines to me, but hey, I might be wrong!

Kelly, not to hihack this thread but what about a 360? I've been told the Raptor is the best one right now. Better than Tim's. But I see a lot of Tim's out there on good motors. It's hard for me to believe new motors would have his if it's 25 HP behind.
And will the super tops make an older Dragon Claw similar to the Raptor?
Thanks.

I don't remember the exact amount but it was quite a bit more than a Hilborn. Both torque and horsepower.
Again I can't tell you in comparison to a new Engler as we haven't done a 305 with Tim's injector.

Honestly on the 360's the Engler and Kinsler Raptors are pretty even. It honestly boils down to driver preference.
I tell people it's like Ford vs. Chevy, some people like Fords and some people like Chevy's.
We've had guys that like Engler's and not Kinslers and vice versa. Again driver preference and what they feel most comfortable with.
Tops won't make much difference as the performance is mainly in the runners.

One more question if you don't mind. Nozzle size. What difference would I see going from 560s to 510s in a Dragon Claw? And without dynoing about how much would the fuel need to change on average, main jet and high speed pressure? 400 pump.

all 305 are not racesaver. Some 305 groups use all steel engines with 200 cc Dart heads or any other 200 cc unported steel head. I think the Racesaver inj would have smaller ports than 200cc.
