Hey all,
Just a quick question. Coming from the Late Model side of things I've been trying to figure out what the numbers after Sprint Car chassis mean. For instance if I see a 2015 XXX chassis it says its a 87/40 - what does that number mean?
Thanks,
Jeff.

The "87" represents the distance between the center line of the front and rear axle. ie: The axles, measured center to center, are 87" apart.
The "40" is how far behind the center line of the rear axle is from the leading edge of the (rear) motorplate.
There will be a small amount of variation depending on manufactuer. So, this is the general definition.
