cant seem to find where I read it at but can anyone offer any advice on timing bird cages at ride height for 87/40 eagle

Dead level with the frame is what I always came back to. 

Buy yourself a digital level--bubble is not as accurate. With the car on stands, place the level on the lower RR frame rail, zero the level, and then set birdcages to 0 degrees. A lot may be mentioned on here about timing birdcages one way or another, but there are better ways to hook up a car. 

The Eagle and Schnee staff are a great resource. Call them direct.
