On Friday September 23, 2011 we lost 2 members of the same family, Van Free and his daughter Aimee Pando in an automobile accident on HWY 74. This is Maggie Leep's father and sister. Van worked at F&F Engines/ Horton Motors for over 30 years. Aimee was a guidance counselor at Hefner Middle School in Oklahoma City. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make donations at any Bank of Oklahoma to the Aimee Pando or the Van Free Memorial Fund, benefiting the children.Aimee is survived by her loving husband Rolando Pando of the home; three beautiful children Rolando Pando, Jr.(10), Anabelle Pando(4), and Abel Pando(1) all of the home. Van is survived by his wife Patricia Free of the home; two daughters Melissa McLeroy of Oklahoma City and Maggie Leep and husband Jeff of Oklahoma City; eight grandchildren Bryttnie, Eathan, Harlie, Jase, Reese, Oso, Anabelle, and Abel; one brother Ed Free and wife Brenda of Yukon, OK; and three sisters Helen Miles and husband Jack of Harrah, OK, Debbie Carver of Oklahoma City, and Tammie Jones and husband Casey of Choctaw, OK.Memorial service for both is scheduled for 10:30 a.m., Friday, September 30, 2011 at First Christian Church, Guthrie. Van and Aimee were both exceptional people. Van built my motor the last year I raced and without his help I wouldn't have raced at all that year. They were both great people to be around, always good for a laugh or two. They will be missed greatly by Jamie and me. I am glad we got to spend some time with them recently at Harlie's birthday party. They are in a better place now.

Van was a hell of Engine Builder. I was a customer of Horton's/F & F for over 30 years. He and his daughter will be truelly missed. GOD Speed Van.
