Dollansky Dominates....always so hard to say who is gonna make the A with the variables that come into play in the Knoxville Nationals format. This list is just for fun and I made mine just that. I'm not a big Dollansky fan however, seeing him race this year at few tracks with wide sweeping turns and do so well........ He looks as good as anyone to win! Good luck. I'm rooting for The Black Bandit.

I'd switch Pittman and Hodnett around. I'm just not confident in the 39's qualifying abilites yet. I'd also switch Rahmer for Dewease. Rahmer has been the fastest PA car all season and if he's 100% (which he's not, still up in the air for running this weekend) he will make the A.
There is a 0% chance Dewease makes the A. His days of running respectively off the porch are over.
I also don't remember the last time Solwold didn't make the A, but that is a car that hasn't run since last year, so who knows?
Other than that, those are the drivers you can expect to make the feature. Of course, every year at least 5 of those top 20 drivers in the world get screwed either by a terrible pill, heat race crash or any other fluke deal. That's what makes the Nationals so unique. Nobody can predict what underdogs make the feature until we see the time trial order.
Rookie of the Nationals: Danny Holtgraver...unless Monteith adapts very quickly.

???Hodnett has been by far the fastest car in PA the last several months. Rahmer has been fast in timetrials but hasn't won many races this year. Greg hasn't been the best timetrialer but I think he races his way in even if he times bad. He is fantastic on fast half-miles. Dewease 0%???(hater I suppose?). I admit he hasn't run well at Knoxville since the qualifying night crash a few years ago when he was obliterating the field, but he's always a threat. LD has been hot and cold this year, could be anywhere from the A to the C. BTW LD has twice as many wins this year as Rahmer.

Montieth is a great racer but from what I've seen, he doesn't adapt quickly to new tracks. He'll have to adapt very quickly to have any chance at the A, very few rookies do that. Not a good timer either, I see him in the C or D honestly.

Yeah, I'm a Dewease hater...lol. Okay, I guess I'll throw away the new 461 t-shirt I just bought. Don't be fooled by the 1st in Grove points, Rahmer, Hodnett, Pittman, Leppo and Walker have all been faster then him all year, they just miss occasional shows. Plus...Lance can't qualify off the porch. I agree about Monteith. Hodnett has been very fast but that car has been so streaky and to have a good Nationals run like he has had in the past you have to be fast every time you hit the track, including time trials.
Stevie, Tyler and Pittman make the feature. If Greg time trials well, he will make it as well. I'll wait on Rahmer's decision until after tonight and tommorow's results. Text from the track is telling me he struggled in his heat.

I guess I'm being fooled more by the 3 grove wins moreso than the points lead. LOL I think LD has been one of the fastest cars in PA this year although he's had some nights where he was barely a top 10. Only Hodnett and Pittman have been faster. I know I've seen him pass Walker, Leppo and Rahmer more times than they've passed him. He's definitely not a lock to make the A, depends largely on TT but his chances are definitely greater than 0. Rahmer has timed extremely well this year but hasn't raced all that well except on occasion. LD is also leading the All Star-East standings over some pretty good drivers. One PA driver (actually from SD) we're not talking about is Justin Henderson. It took him a couple years to get going in PA but he's having a really good season and with lots of Knoxville experience, he's a threat to make the A.

He's got a shot with his "happy car" quite frankly everyone who runs Garrett motors has a shot those things pull hard. Loved Justin's VL interview last night. Once again, if he gets a good pill draw he could make the show, just like 75 others that roll into the Marion County Fairgrounds next week.
I'll say the Posse finishes like this
Pittman(A)
Stevie(A)
Walker(A)
Hodnett(B)
Rahmer(B)
Dewease(C)
Henderson(C)
Monteith(D)
It's all fun and games though, well for us it is...not the drivers.
4 days.
