You forgot to mention that the race was cut short due to time mismanagement err I mean curfew. When will the promoters learn that no one will be upset if we are out the door by 9:30pm. You don't need to drag out the night just to make everyone feel like they got their monies worth. Instead you feel like you get robbed when the reason you spend the $20 is cut in half.

You echo my sentiments many times over. My first and only submission yesterday covered this problem and the easy solution.

We arrived in Calistoga around 5 o'clock on Saturday to discover the races had been rained out. We already had hotel reservations and stayed the night in Calistoga in anticipation of good weather and a full racing program on Sunday night. As things turned out, we spent our whole weekend in Calistoga to watch half of one main event. Pretty disappointing... Obviously, there's nothing to do to change the weather. But better time management on Sunday night could have allowed plenty of time to finish the full sprint car main event. I understand that the new promoter is trying to get the fans more involved with the drivers and make the races into more of an event. That's great! I think watching good races makes fans want to come back, not spending 20 minutes with the drivers signing autographs and shooting t shirts into the grandstands and then cutting the race in half because of curfew issues.

I appreciate the efforts Dan Simpson is making to revive 410 racing in California. I want him to succeed. Many California tracks have strict curfew rules. It's always easy to waste time early in the program because 11 o'clock seems so far away. I've attended races this year where all of the main events were cut short to meet time constraints so everybody goes home a little bit disappointed. Fans come to watch their favorite drivers RACE. Curfew is not going away. Time management, especially during the early parts of the program, seems to be an area where improvements need to be made. Add all the pagentry you want, just don't make me have to watch that instead of the races!

THANK YOU, John Prentice "Ocean speedway" for getting the "SPRINT CAR SHOW" in Friday night. Thanks for making the adjustments to the program. { Like running the "SPRINT CARS" first.} Other PROMOTERS need to take note on how to ..."GET ERRRR DONE"... Great Main Event. Thanks again. wink
