Funny. Shatz runs Shavers, Kinser well runs kinsers. and the Kahne cars run speedway motors out of indy. Sammy runs motors out Iowa. Sides is on a kinser program. Yep the heavy hitters arent running any junk out of the state of PA.

Take out the two NASCAR teams ( Shatz has ALWAYS run Shavers and Steve has ALWAYS run his own motors) and the most of the rest, have run a Pa built engine during their careers at one time or the other, including Kahne's teams until they hooked up with Speedway Motors. You might want to check your facts again, because Sides has won many races using Ott engines as has Sammy. Again this is not a Posse vs Outlaws topic that you are trying make it out to be. I just don't think you have been following the WoO very long. I'll give you another example, Jac's R19 team won 6 races last season (5 with Jac and 1 with Doug Esh) and they were using a Cappetta built engine( built in Pa). Dollansky currently runs a Morrision built engine(built in Pa) and has run Rider's(built in Pa) in the past. The current WoO point champion Meyers, runs a Garrett( built in Pa).Last year's ASCS point champion Jason Johnson runs an Ott. I could go on and on with facts, but I guess you see what you want to see. No one is saying that Pa has the best engines builders, there are many great ones out there, but the simple truth is that no other state has as many quailty engine builders like Pa. Most of whom have sustained success over a long period of time.

I'm a bit surprised no one mentioned Ed Stauffer as a former PA engine
builder. His motors won quite a few races, mostly with FFR.
On a separate note, (IMO) the surge in demand for Ott engines was in large part due to Rahmer's dominance. He certainly won a lot of race with those motors too.

Didn't Davey Brown Sr also build engines for Bob Weikert when they were destroying the competition in the 80's?? I think he also built engines for the Zemco team for a while.

The Riders seem to be the HOT ticket right now here in PA!

If I'm not mistaken, Davey Brown also supplied Chris Eash with motors back when he drove the E&G Classics 17E. Chris ran up front almost every weekend back then.

Yes, Davey Brown Sr built those killer motors for the Weikert team in the mid 80's with Doug Wolfgang and in fact still builds engines for Don Kreitz, Jr.

Scott Gerkin and Steve's brother Randy, have been building Steve's engines inhouse forever, going back to his days with Karl.
