Interesting and entertaining show. Thanks to all of the Ventura Raceway guys that came up the hill to race. Seth Wilson took a really bad tumble while qualifying. Danny Sheridan really trashed his car when he crashed during qualifying. Cal Smith put a hole in his pan in a spectacular way.
Interesting moment the end of the main event when Rickie Gaunt jumped out of his car and confronted Mike Spencer. He had his helmet off before the car even stopped, to say that Rickie was upset is an understatement.
I and a few fans around me were about ready to shove some checkered flags up somewhere on the flag seller.
I was not too impressed with the show that the fire truck put on while the National Anthem was being played.
The racing was outstanding. Sprint car racing is a bit like sex. The worst I had was just marvelous. I am looking forward to the next show.

What was the attendance like? Hope Wilson is OK. Why was Gaunt so upset?

I have attended a few shows up there. I think that this was the biggest crowd I have seen there. In other words, the stands were full.
I think that some new sprint car racing fans were created. They were whooping it up something fierce while the cars were racing.

You know it's cold when the beer lines are empty and the coffee/hot chocolate line was an easy 45 minute wait ! ! We all saw "Showtime" walk back to the pit's after flipping his butt off and heard from (friend's?) of Sth Wilson's in the stand's that he broke a leg ? I hope he recover's soon and both flip's were very hard and in the same exact spot in turn 3

It was seen plainly on the stream as Dean was right on it, and it was more than a little.
Half the lies they tell about me aren't true.

We talked to the promoter after the show and told him now he needed to book a Midget show there and his response was that he talked to a few people about it already and is going to look into it. How awsome would it be to have an open comp Midget race there around Turkey Night with some sponser backing to pay like $4,000 - $5,000 to win when a lot of the Mid-West team's are out here ? ? I for one can't wait to see a Midget barn burner at the new improved VRP ! ! !

I talked to Danny on the infield before the main. He was sore but in relatively good spirits.

Yeah, I hope Wilson is OK too. It's too bad to hear the news; I thought he looked fast at the PAS a couple of weeks ago, and that he was poised for a good run this year. Hopefully he recovers fast, and can get back to racing.
Damn, I knew I should have made the trip up the hill last night. You better believe I will be at the PAS on Sat. though!!
LOL, I would of loved to see the altercation with Gaunt as well; that just makes things more interesting.

Word from Steve Wilson is that Seth has a broken kneecap. He has already had one surgery, with another one scheduled for tomarrow. He was transported to Saint Rose Dominican Hospital in Las Vegas last night where the surgery has taken place. He is in good spirits, but a lot of pain. We'll keep fans updated as we learn more.

Pre-thanks for the updates on Seth. I hope the surgeries are successful, pain is minimal, and re-hab is swift. Hurry Back.

Rickie was right not to be happy with that maneuver.

I was at Comp Edge earlier in the day and I have to tell you that last night felt warm compared to noon time! It was a beautiful blue sky but colder then all get out.
My only complaints of the whole night were the Flying Fossil winner. To me, he jumped the start in Turn 3 by a country mile and the start let to go. I also believe that he had all 4 tires well inside turn 1 to re-take the lead after Wiley Miller had cleanly passed him. White Chalk should be placed out there to indicate where the pole is around the turns.
Otherwise, an honestly well run show. In a way, it was interesting watching the guy sell $10 worth of flags for $240 last night.

Sorry to see my friend Cal ventilate his oil pan. He obviously suffered a huge set back for all of the time and hard work he puts into putting a car on the track for all of us to watch.
I hope nothing for then a rod and pan were hurt!
