FYI... the kid that posted this was directly involved. He and sevearl of the clean up crew I know very well and they were scared to death. Adults musculing up to high school kids, are you kidding!

Who do you think picks up the trash after the races every night so it's clean when you crawl out of bed....? It's the Knoxville kids who bust their butt to give everyone the best and cleanest show we can.

Regardless of what went on you don't threaten kids!!!!!

TK is lucky this was in Knoxville with very hard working resectful kids that would never disrespect adults. I do personally know several of them, and Poffy and AJ are more than capable of sticking up for themselves if it came to it.

We've all made choices we regret when we've had one too many but NEVER EVER THREATEN A KID!

2AM has come and gone with no new incident reported so hopefully everyone learned their lesson from last night. Just wanted to post one more time before going to bed as I know a friend of mine is desperately hoping this thread is at the top of the list when he wakes up.

oh, hey lefty, the kids have every right to clean. the crowd should have moved. just because the kids have the right to clean, the idea of forcing it on the crowd was not the wise choice. kind of like the mosque thing at ground zero. are they within their rights to want to build it there. yes, but is it really the right decision? or how about this. you are a pedestrian crossing the street and you have the right of way. a big bus is coming at you and it doesn't look like it is going to give way. do you stand on your rights, or run like hell? knowing when and when not to exercise your rights is a good thing.

NEVER THREATEN A KID. Yeah right especially these kids that would never disrespect an adult. If that was truly the case we wouldn't be having this discussion now. I am calling B.S. on the whole incident (or non-incident). If everything went down as the original poster said security and the local police would have done something. Instead you get someone that comes on nameless, lies about his involvement, and skews the report of his perception of what happened More likely a local 7-11 worker got his proverbial a$$ handed to him verbally when he tried to exert his non-existant authority. Then when some one with authority was called he got it handed to him again.

One other thing. The fairboard may want to take a look at child labor laws and the hours they are allowed to work. They have constraints for both under 15 and 15-18 y/o (yeah I looked it up) and if they were under 18 they should not have been there in the first place.

John .perhaps someone who was actually there and saw what happened could step up .,like a man,and clairify what happen....you and others claim this guy is a coward and a lier...maybe one of the hero's that participated is willing to defend thier actions ,instead of relying on others to do so ...if someone falsely claimed I verbally threatened and assaulted underage workers,,,I'd call them a lier-so would you...again maybe one of the proud 'Men' throwing empty beer cans at these kids will step up

Lastly, if these were truly "underage kids" than were was the adult supervision? Wait. Maybe the OP was the adult. Maybe he was the one getting yelled at. As I said earlier. The superviosr's actions or lack of is what caused the entire incident base on the OP.

race88 - I see comprehension isn't at the top of your list of accomplishments. I said people who will call out someone and not post their name. If the shoe fits wear it proudly. As for the dialog at the end. Did you read any of the supposed child's stories he typed? He said they told the super there were people there and the super said keep going. What part of that do you not understand? Forgot about your comprehension issues.

I will say it again. The problem was the guy that told them to press on. And.... Had the crowd been out of line as stated... Throwing beer cans, kicking sandals, almost trying to hit someone, especially a juvenile, security and police would have been all over that. They were not. They parents would have done something about it as well. They did not. I still stay the story is B.S. as dramatized in the OP.

So what do you think happened when the children told their supposed boss that there were people in the way and the boss said keep going they will move? Or did they just start blowing shit in the direction of the crowd believing that the boss was right? When it turned out he wasn't did they go get him or take it upon themselves to engage the crowd? Do you honestly believe the "children" blew crap in the direction of the crowd and then just sat there while the crowd (not just Tim) threw the crap back at them and verbally abused them by cursing?

As long as we are calling them kids, children etc. Could you tell me how old these supposed kids that could "hold their own" with anyone were? You know the ones that have never heard or used a curse word in their life, especially not that night, and have never had a confrontation with anyone before, especially not that night? Again, where was the adult supervision.

I never said that they were actual quotes. In fact you may be the only person that did not find them to be rhetorical comments. Meaning meant to make a point and not requiring comment. Based on the OP what you are saying happened and what the OP says happened are different. Go back and read it. They said they told the boss people where in the way and the boss basically said to bad press on. So lets for a minute say that the OP did not know anyone who was there. Would he of posted the same thing? Stupid ass cows get out of the way because that is their only option when confronted with morons. Humans on the other hand have other options. In this case they used that option. But going by your statement when a leaf blower is blowing debris at you that you should just move? So they didn't ask them to move? Just started blowing shit their direction? And you would have done and expected the same thing?

Another scenerio for you. Let's say that group was really a not very nice group and the children would have had the shit kicked out of them. Still think begging a confrontation (which is what they did as soon as they blew shit in their direction) was a wise choice? I mean was that little 100sf are they were amassed in really worth the confrontation? If that is what you think than I will rank your managerial abilities right up there with the super that made the call.

No the only reason this is an issue at all is because the OP got a verbal ass kicking by someone he could name and when the authorities showed up he likely got another one. So he comes on here and cries like a baby about it.

Holden - The first post says the authorities were there and in fact threatened to put the clean up boss in jail. You tell me. The OP also said he attempted to strike one of the children and that the crowd threw things at them. All of which can land you in jail for everything from assualt to drunk and disorderly.

My original point seems to be lost. The OP told one story, then changed it and then changed it again. If it had gone down like he said in the first post they would not have been threatening to put the super in jail and likely would have jailed at least the person attempting to strike a child. And you see this kind of BullShit on this forum all the time. People to chickenshit to post their name that sit behind a computer and talk shit about one or another driver. It is not an uncommon occurrence and happens on most message boards. These assholes sit in the stands and watch a show and have no idea what its like for these guys night in and night out. They don't know any of them personally so it is easy to just judge them by one occurrence or cause they did not sign an autograph for their kid when they stumbled drunken through their pit dragging the kid along to get said autograph before driving home. They have not been there and watched one of these guys lifted out of a wrecked car on a back board and been asked how bad the injury looks cause they are worried they won't be able to put food on the table if they can not race. Or their weekend is done because they blew a motor in the heat race. Or they blew a tire and just bent the last frame they had in the truck. Just think about that the next time you want to talk or start crap about any driver or crew whether you like them personally or not.

Yeah, all that shit is what goes on and nearly every night. So when someone turns a leaf blower on you at 2 am (which for most of them is actually early because they did not start drinking at noon the day before) you just might get a little pissed off. In don't expect those that bag on drivers or crews to actually get any of this. Least of all you Dan. But I got it off my chest and fell better for it. I am done with this subject. If you all really got a problem with Tim you know where to find him. How about you go ask him his take on the events of that night.

Ok first off, we were not warned that they were gong to be blowing the area clean.......They started with the grandstands with no warning and then proceeded to the ground. I am going to have to say that the couple hundred people that were caught off guard we not to happy either. Was TK pissed, yes he was as were the rest of us. He tired to talk to the guys and they purposly blew the dust and dirt at him hitting him with debris, including a beer can....He then kicked a smashed beer can in that direction and his flip flop flew off, stricking no one......They have a party under the stands every year. This year the band was off of turn 4 where the exibition hall, the prompters as well as the cleaning crew knew that this was going on and could have easily scheduled the blowing of gargabe at a later time.

twist it any way you want. the thing is we have established that someone told kids that were in their command to antagonize people by assaulting them with air blowers. that resulted in retribution by the people. you keep bring the actions of adults towards kids into the discussion. what about the action of an adult who told kids it was ok to use the air blowers to try to disperse the crowd? was crowd disbursement part of the job of the cleaning crew? if i am at my desk and the cleaning crew comes in, and i say go clean over there because i'm staying at my desk, should the cleaning crew proceed to move me from my desk with their vacum? use your freaking head. it was not the job of the cleaning crew to do anything but clean. it was not up to them to police or evacuate the areas in order to clean them. everyone has already said that sure, maybe the crowd should have just let the crew go. who knows? so then the crew took on something that was not their job. crowd disbursement. under the circumstances the crew should have just stuck to their job. eveything that seems to have happened after the crew took on the job of crowd disbursement seems to have been caused by the antagonism of being assaulted with air blowers. is that what the adult or the leader of the crew was teaching? that if you deviate from your duty to antagonise people you may get mobed and cussed at, and have stuff thrown at you? lesson learned.
