Congrats to the Ballou team for sweeping the TNT races this weekend. Is it just me or does the hood on Robert Ballou's car seem uncommonly beat to hell. On one hand, I think it is kind of neat because its old school, the "It'll make it through the season" mentality. But good lord, that thing needs a makeover. As much as he runs out front you wouldn't think it would get beat up that bad.
If they can't find any money in the budget for a new hood then i'll step up and donate $20, although on the other hand they are winning and kicking arse.
Also note the cool Jesse Hockett "In Memory Of" suit
So what do you guys think?

Damn a car that looks like a racecar not a show car won. Go figure.

I must say I do NOT think that car looks very good, even sitting in victory lane. :| But yeah, we get the point!

I like the Bobby Allen quote a lot. Anything about Bobby Allen... I like a lot. lol
Some of my first experiences of being "wowed" by sprint cars were from winning cars sitting on the frontstretch of "The Bowl".
I remember one of Sammy's early cars and especially TIM GEE's car after they won races... getting up close to them and thinking "wow... it sure looked better from the stands" more or less.
Given the choice between looking good or running good... give me Robert Ballou any day of the week and twice on Sunday. Then again... I'm certifiably crazy. I think crazy thoughts like sprint cars shouldn't run the mini tanks that require all too frequent fuel reds and the even crazier "you don't need a 53' trailer, a customized Mule, chrome plated jack, etc. to run fast".
People try to look professional to attract sponsors and out of pride in one's work. I would think more sponsors are attracted by you staying out of jail & winning a lot of races. Spend the $$$ on the car's function and forget about all the fancy crap.
Crazy talk... I know.

That hood has "Character", unlike the cheesy beer-can trophy.

Keep on Rockin it Robert! Thats good stuff right there....I'd like to purchase the part of the hood with the Jesse sticker if you decide to trash it....
