Not when it comes to ranting and raving to your own team, like he did at Knoxville. An owner sees that and figures 'screw 'em'. Maybe that's one time McCarl should have controlled himself. Now, if this is all true, not only has he hurt his own racing, but hurt his son's racing, as well. Smooth move McCarl, smooth move.........................

What happen to all the true race fans? Seems like all anyone wants to do on here is bust someones balls or beliefs. Terry & Sammy are both great for the sport, what's to gain by gloating over someones misfortune. Wish the best for both of them.

Terry is a selfish ass, who "milked" Big Game, with little regard to the consequences. Acting like a jerk has nothing to do with talent or determination, it has everything to do with character, or lack there of.

With that said, try to set your emotions aside, consider the change a business decision. Sammy can win anywhere in the country. He's simply a better driver; his resume speaks for itself. Sammy is a technician and a true talent behind the wheel.

Congrats to Big Game and to Sammy on your newly formed partnership!

That's where you lose your point - suggesting Sammy isn't an asshole. Even most of his strongest supporters admit that - well - he is one. I prefer Terry's personality and don't consider him an asshole but you are welcome to your opinion. As far as personality goes can you imagine Sammy promoting or running a racing event or racetrack? Never happen......at least not without Amy because she does have "personality".

When it comes to someone being an ass Sammy is all ASS! I've never seen a driver be so rude night after night to everyone he comes on contact with fans included.

I've been around this sport for many years and a Knoxville regular for at least 25 years and although Terry has had his bad nights they are few and far between and yes I've seen him be have problems with people at times, it's usually one or two people per episode...like maybe a fan/official/driver got Terry pissed...He only has a problem with them...not everyone he comes in contact with the whole night. Sammy can win the feature and still be an ass to a little kid just wanting a signature.

Granted Sammy is a hell of a driver but the competiton at Knoxville is as bad as I ever remember seeing it. Sammy should have been able to walk all over all of them in a few laps.

More food for thought... How many rides has Sammy been in over the last 20 years? My guess is Sammy will be lucky to stay in that ride for the rest of the year...It takes more than a good driver to make a race team.

Sammy has been good in the #24 so far but I only see him finishing out the year and then going back to limited racing. Remember last year when there was talk of Mr. Personality (Schatz) driving a Big Game car and Terry hung out to dry? Tod has been high on Schatz driving for him... maybe he got rid of Terry now because there's a good chance you know who will be driving that car next year. He hasn't been doing good at TSR this year, so far, and he doesn't like doing media stuff which TSR has alot more of than Big Game.

You under-estimate the abilities of Bill W!!!

I like both Terry & Sammy, as I posted the other day mentioning "I hope the argument at Knoxville doesn't have repercussions".

Why did this conversation dive into who's a *$*)(@$ and who isn't a *#(*%*# and payback and the like? Wow.

Free speech is one thing but this is hardly productive. Buncha accusations and name calling from so-called "fans" of the sport.

They're both outstanding drivers that win at different career points. One seemingly has had his best days pass yet still is competitive and the other is hitting his stride based on last year's win totals.

I can't help but think there was a lot of issues related to last week at Knoxville.

My first impression about Sammy is that most any car owner would be proud to have him running their program. His rig, his trailer, his cars... they're always clean and neat. He takes care of the owner's investment better than most. He set the bar for professional race team years ago on the WoO circuit. Big, functional trailers... haven't seen any mentions of him but he was the first I saw with 3 trailer axles, first with a semi-rig trailer that I saw.

This isn't a slight on Terry, he seems to be a great marketer and businessman.

I remember a conversation I had with LaVerne Nance on why Jeff Swindell was fired. Simple answer: he didn't take care of the tow rig. Fine with all the on-track stuff... couldn't trust Jeff to take care of the items off-track that cost so much and had to be repaired, replaced, etc. at an alarming rate.

There's more to your employment with a team than what you do on the track would be my rambling point du jour.

I envisioned 3 Big Game cars (not counting Austin's 17) after last weekend's Sammy wins. Not to be, apparently.

Seeing the #1 Big Game car win the ASCS title was something I thought about. Maybe not. People DO hunt in TX, OK, AR, KS, MO, NE & the like.
