I have sat in the stands for years, of coarse I have my favorites and my not so favorites, I read scrafan posts, keep up on the lastest news, but until recently hadn't voiced any opinions. But I for one am getting disgusted - and can't believe that I am the only one.

This just keeps getting better: That Wags guy's reports on Kittle Motorsports
Jan 30th KITTLE MOTORSPORTS #18 CAR PARKED FOR 2010 DUE TO NOT
ENOUGH SPONSORSHIP
Feb 7th LIMITED SCHEDULE NO MONEY
Feb15 The Kittle Motorsports Racing Team rented Victorville Raceway track and a few friends brought out
thier hardware to join them in a full testing day."
THEY rented the track? Thought they had NO MONEY?

I wish Danny the best,( as he is one on my favorite list ) but I"d said it earlier, Publicity Stunt? Seems like Wags is the new Kittle Motorsports spokesperson.

Okay Wildman77, I am starting with the assumption that you have no idea how bad racers want to race; it is almost insatiable. Over the last 40-years, I have seen racers mortgage their homes, spend their last unemployment dollar and pull engines out of their tow vehicles to put them in their racecars to race. I don't think things are quite this dire with the Kittle Team, but I believe they have lost enough financial backing to put a big question mark next to each race on their calendar.

Ken Wagner is one of western sprint cars biggest fans. He runs his Wagtimes website to inform and if possible support competitors. If his attempts to support team "X", "Y" or "Z" disgusts you, so be it. Race teams will always be looking for money to keep their efforts going; that is just how the racing world turns.

Now if you think if you think the Kittle Team rented Victorville Raceway and hosted a practice, you are sorely mistaken. They invited friends and fellow racers to share the cost. This a common practice to ease the expense of testing days. Hell, we even pitched in for food to BBQ. By the way, Brian Kittle did a great job behind the grill.

I wish Danny and the Kittle Team the best of luck this weekend and hope they make enough money to get them on to the next race. Not to cause any more problems, but I hope the Alexander Team can find enough sponsorship to run most of the 2010 season too. Financing a sprint car is a tough deal.

If any of my son's backers read this, I would like to thank you for every nickel you have thrown in the pot or product you have supplied. There are not many teams that can show up at the track week after week without the help of great people like you.

Regards,

Brett Roa

Wildman77...you've done a good job holding that bletcher seat down..maybe you should leave the racing to racers...Kittle motorsports got great 'Bang for their bucks'.Part of race pre-season race prep before the first race is to check to car out.Let's compare apples to apples...Victorville has an open practice the 28th,,these 3 teams looked to have about 15 people to buy pit passes for-$25/=$375...at an open practice there would be at least 5 other classes using the track ..so you'ld be lucky to get 1 hr actual time for sprint cars....by renting the track, you get 4 hrs track time for sprints-no pit passes and access to come on and off as you choose-$1425 minus the pit passes $1050 diviided by 3 teams=$350 per team and they got 4 times the amount of time on the track..sounds like they spend their sponsers money well...Every Race Team out there could benefit from some additional sponsership money,,,By the way Ken Wagner has helped about every sprint car racer in So.Cal.through Wag's bucks and the 'Wags Dash'so his attempt to help Danny is just the way he is, A Great Sprint Car Fan...I'm truely looking forward to the return of the Wag's at Ventura! If someone out there could afford to sponser a team ..the Blue 18 is a hard chargeing -elbows up bunch..i'm sure you would be proud of the way the could represent your company

Why in the world woud anyone belittle a team like Kittle or a backer like Wags that backs everyone racing is way beyond comprehension, but you know what they say about opinions and A--holes everyone has one.

Maybe you have sat in the grandstands to long? Maybe go down into the pits after a Saturday night race and find out how hard it is to run a sprint car operation without sponsorship money. Thank you Ken Wagner for keeping us race fans informed. The best of luck to "Showtime" and the great Kittle team this year.

Practice day at Victorville was a great day! Who could ask for more, the snow laden mountains in the background, sprint cars on the track, Nationwide race on tv and lots of food. The 18 car arranged the practice, but the cost was split between the 4 teams that were there. Being that we'd be there all day, I thought it would be great to have a bbq, so Julie grabbed more burgers and buns to throw on the grill and Brian offered to do the grilling. It was a super day, lots of laps and the opportunity to try new ideas and set ups.
And a thank you to Mike and the Victorville crew for giving us a great track to practice on

PS: After a stellar 2009 season, Moose Racing is also looking for marketing partners to enable the team wtih Greg Bragg to run up front in the top 5 and contend for the 2010 Championship

Hey Theres no doubt that money is tight for everyone and running a sprintcar isnt cheap .

There is a perfect all around solution however that would keep cars from being parked. And its real easy ......

Just quit running USAC races and run VV !

Think about it .....

No B.S. radios, mufflers $400.00 driver/entrant licenses

No $50.00 pit passes

Get paid that night instead of when USucks office decides to mail ur check

No manditiry head neck restraints

No bogus tire rules

I could go on ....

Its a good track and we race hard .... what more could you want ? Its not like USAC has promoted like they promised or paid like they said. Its only costing more to run and I think they suck.

Just a fantasy maybe ....... But i think it would be fun

Wildman77, give me a break, you call yourself a sprint car fan? You obviously don't have a clue on what it takes to put together a racing team, both money and effort. Until you know the situation with first hand info, maybe you should stay seated in your bleacher seat. Not a single race team out there that doesn't need financial help in todays racing climate.

I do know from past experiance what it takes to run a race car. For years, I owned and race midgets across the United States. Sure times were different then, things didn't cost as much as they do now, but income verus $$ to run a car are about equal. There were no sponsors, and I wnet without a lot of things in order to have that car on the track week in and week out.

What I said about the KIttles renting the track at VIctorville was a direct quote from the Wagtimes Website, IT said nothing about other teams putting $$ into the pot to do so, read it again yourselves
Feb 15 " The kittle morotrsports racing team rented Victorville Raceway track and a few friends brought out their hardware to join them in a full testing day." So, for that I apologize. I never would of sturred up this board, had the facts be presented that way.
From what I have heard about wags, he does try to help at lot of teams, but the facts or maybe lack of facts leads people to the wrong conclusion.

JC

Yes Sir, The first race of the year is on the 17th of April, I cant wait....... Amen to the running of Victorville. What a Great track. Great People everywhere, and the fan base is getting bigger..... Unless its 30 degrees outside.... I think I heard somewhere they were planning on having us wear a 1 way radio! Might help out with the lining up on a Yellow, make the show run more racing, and less idle time by getting everyone all lined up quicker.....

Everyone is a little Crazy in their own unique way...

Its the one's who Don't think they are Crazy you have
to Look Out For!!!!

Interesting quote about a-holes above...

Maybe instead of crawling up the guys rear end and bitching at him you could have just explained the situation without the name calling. But i guess, the sports got plenty of fans right, no need to try and build the fan base, every seat is sold every night right?

I hope all the teams can run as much as possible and support as many tracks as possible this season. Best of luck to all the racers this season whatever series they support.

Gotta agree with Grady on this one.....read the original post ,Buzzard, then tell me you'd want to sit next to this 'Fan' in the grandstand all night...a miss interpitaton of the facts or not...the post was just mean spirited...it's time spectators took responsibility for there statements..as a USAC official I'm fining him $200 and one race suspension

Maybe you can explain how you think that I was calling anyone a name, as far as an explanation, read his post then you will understand "bitching".
