Help!! We've stayed at the Tulsa Select for years (back when it was the Holiday Inn Select), but have decided that this was the last year there for us (the stabbing behind the hotel was the kicker). I'm looking for reccommendations for a new place to stay. Anyone got one? We fly in to Tulsa - so a shuttle to and from the expo would be perfect and someplace that has restaurants around it would be good too since we don't have a car. Thanks in advance!!

The Hard Rock Hotel Casino, formally the Cherokee Casino has somewhere around 400 rooms now. 144 of them are the old Super 8 that were bought and refurbished next door to the Casino. Rates around $59 or so. Main towers, upscale rooms around $100. PLENTY of restaruants at the Casino. They haven't been running a shuttle to the Chilibowl but if enough rooms were to be booked for next year, I'm sure they would consider.

On that list I don't see the Microtel or whatever that place is called that is right on the grounds just East of the track. That would be a great place to stay as you'd only have to walk across the parking lot to and from the races. The rooms are nice with microwaves, fridges and 32" LCD TVs ... just stopped by some friends' room so don't know what the rate is .....

It's not the micro tel anymore but don't know the name. I heard one guy has all the rooms reserved and then assigns them out. May or may not be true. Shuttle don't know. We stay at the Baymont at I-44 and Yale for at least 10 years. They do have cabs in town.

It is true that the Expo Inn (old Microtel) next to the Expo Center is completely booked by one person during Chili Bowl week. This straight from the hotel staff last year.
We found the Extended Stay America clean and comfortable this year and very affordable. It is only about 10 minutes from the Expo Center.

For this year's Chilibowl I used priceline and got the Courtyard by Marriot for $38/night......$261.71 total for 6 nights......I was by myself but they still gave me a room with 2 queen beds.....the room was huge, very clean and quiet......it is located where there is a bunch of hotels near the Crackerbarrel ......about 10 minute drive to the Expo
