Bob Hawks a veteran driver of his own former 5H sprintcar will be the new promoter at Jacksonville Il. This should be good for racing in the midwest.

Hope he has better weather than the last promoter did. Seems it rained out more weekends than they ran the last 2 years.
If they run non wing sprintcars,I'll try to make it over from Indy whenever I get the chance.

At the last race of the season (09) they announced that they were going to run a 410 Winged Sprint show every friday night. Dont know if that is going to be the case now that Hawks is running the show. However, Hawks ran winged stuff through his career and I would assume that he will probably promote winged stuff (both 360 and 410)
As long as they keep that track somewhat tacky and build a cushion then the racing is great winged or non-winged. The racing (Track conditions) have really improved over the past five years. If you are in the area on a summer friday night, come by and check out Morgan County Raceway.

Im upset that the Wests still arent the promoters. They did a great job and now to get pushed out the door really sucks.

The whole thing was just run to shady calling off at 10 in the morning or the night before there was a lot of nights he could of gotten the show in. No show means no money for fair board.I wish Bobby and his wife the best of luck he was a hell of a race car driver.

I hear it's going to be a 410,or open motors like Farmington, so that should be a great call!

I also saw them bust their butts a couple of times to grade the slop off and iron the pit road just so we could race.
As far as "shady", Billy and Kim were nothing but fair to work for. I know I had fun this year. I don't know if Bobby wants any of last year's staff back or not, but at any rate, I look forward to the '10 season.
Racecar spelled backwards is racecar. Racecar upside
down is expensive.

Karma! Thanks for the early Christmas gift! Maybe if they would of treated people better, mainly the streets and hornets they would still have the track. They kicked me out from pure second hand information that people told them I said! Guess I should of called and told them all the things I heard others say so they could of got kicked out!

Despite running the risk of taking this thread too far off the main topic of open wheel racing, I would point out that I talked Billy into adding laps for the pony stock heats and features. Also, we actually time trialed the street stocks a couple of times; how many places do that?

I dont know what you think I know, but it is not much. So think what you want. I helped you every chance I had to come out and help you. If it was mowing or what. I didnt ask for anything but a thank you. I even came out and pushed for some big shows you had and all i got was in for free, didnt get gas money for the night or couldnt have anybody come in with me. So just want to say you are welcome for all I did, even thow it was not much.

Bob will do a great job. I can see I will be making some extra trips to J-ville this season.
Tell me how much money you got and I'll tell you how
fast you can go!
