Ya, he's my brother, his name is Henry Steele. He is ok and at home now. He was released from the Victorville hospital last night with minor cuts and bruises, luckily nothing broke. Still waiting for him to comer over today and wash the rest of the car! lol

I posted information about the race in my recap of the night's racing (that actually took place). Had a chance to interview Blake Miller and John Aden - both were very patient interviews. Thanks to everyone at Victorville - it's a good track, and I'd definitely go back.

Henry is my brother and well that was just a joke about washing the car...No code for beers as he doesn't drink. He is pretty sore today as expected. and may need surgery on his knees, will find our more when he sees the doctor again.. However, he is back at the hospital with his 14 year daughter whom flipped in the Rhino earlier today, she broke on of her toes, dislocated her finger (we think...not sure if she is going to lose it or not) and messed up her foot really bad, she is surgery as we speak for her finger and foot. Please say a prayer for my neice and brother... Thank You

Correct. I was keeping it light and trying to be funny.
Positive thoughts for both father and daughter for the best outcome on their injuries.

I saw the flip from the far left side of the stands, That was one hell of a ride. Thoughts and prayer go out to them. My main question is, Who is the driver of the 8z car who feels he can drive through anyone he wants. I have been going out to the track for a long time now and watched him do that sort of thing to a lot of people. I know he is young and invincible, but after the race I saw his crew yelling at someone like it was there fault, With us that sort of thing would not be tolerable. that is just wrong. I watched him drive into 3 different cars that night, and numerous people since the first of the year, with no way of being able to do what he thought he could do, which is pass them. He just drove right into them, cockpit side which is dangerous. We always keep a good eye on him since we do like to see flips, They need to analyze and hopefully correct what they are doing before the kid hurts someone or his self for that matter. We run an all american and can bang doors, which would probly be the best car for him to drive, but in those sprints that should be a no no. Just a concerned fan who does not like to see people get hurt, and usually has a great gut feeling about this matter.

Hey so cal dirt track lover, you are exactly correct. I understand that usac has been on the radio telling him if he cannot control the car they will black flag him. I only can say that If i were young enough to race again he would only do that once to me he would never get a second chance he would already be out of the ball park. may be some one at VV will have enough sense to talk to him and maybe he could possibly understand. lol

John,
FYI, no such warning has been issued by USAC get your facts straight before commenting. And yes he had a rough night at VV Saturday night (might have been a little tired due to having run 10 races in 9 weeks in 3 different states) but it had more to do with a ill handling car due to damage we did not find until after the main. (every driver has an off night). Did he push the issue with Hubcap Mike Yes! only after 3 laps of Mike running him out to the front straight wall trying to block. He may be young but he will not be pushed around and yes he understands what goes around comes around. If you have an issue please stop by and talk with us face to face not on a public message board. Please stop by our pits in Calistoga to discuss this further.
Socal dirt track lover- the argument you heard was between the car owner and crew about the above mentioned mechanical issues.

Just want to let you know I was not in the Perkins car Saturday night. They rented the car to someone else. I always give young Mathew plenty of room.

I was not there. So no comment on his driving.
To say he was tired or the car wasn't handling right, that is BS. For his safety, maybe he should have caught a nap.
If the car isn't working, pull off and make the repair before something
bad happens. There is always another race.

Good advice Kenny, many bad choice's where made throughtout the night. Looking back we know we should have just not raced. We learned and will be more responsible in the future.
Sorry for all affected Team 8z.

One can always learn in this thing we call life. Everyone, at sometime, has made the wrong choice.
Realizing it, then learning from it makes you wiser.
Take care.
