well folks, I miss ya, all of ya.
I did fracture the plateau of the big lower leg bone, which holds the socket for the knee.
I will not be able to put ANY weight on it until July 15th.
I was operated on last week and sent to Hell for rehab. Hell is located just across the railroad tracks from Heaven in Knoxville.
I got to rehab on Wed, and informed them that I would be going to the races of Friday and Sat night, as well as coming home for the weekend.
Those people tried treating me like a cripple, and let me tell you I rebelled.
I was in a meeting Thursday when they told me that I could not do these things. I told them that I was NOT hurt, just inconvenienced. Bottom like is the head of the Rehab, a decent looking Blondie female with a racing family background made the comment that she hoped she never had to deal with a pace person again.
I did leave the Hospital yesterday after noon against medical advice, I am at home now, and will return for more punishment next week.
Till then no flowers, I don't even know my address, HH here may be my only contact other than phone.
I have a feeling that the staff will think Lenard Mcarl was a very patient laid back patient a few decades ago compared to me.

Duane, being in that field.....they do give you that advice because they know what has and what has NOT worked for that type of injury in the past. Listen to their advice.....it will help you in thee long run and have a better outcome.......unless you like hip pain because you will be living with a lot of it if it doesn't heal right. Take care.

Disobeying doctor's orders so you can get back to the races? You've been hanging around too many Sprint Car drivers.
Get well soon. I miss those off topic posts so much that I might not ignore the next one...

It'll be a long recovery Duane - but it will be longer if you don't listen to the therapy "sadists". My Dad had a knee replaced a year ago and refused to listen much and now he can't walk very well. I know you don't want to hear it but they have your best interests in mind - and so do we.

I don't know if it is true or not, but the way I heard it, was the reason it was so rough was that everytime someone came into the room you bent over and grabbed your ankles and that was just too rough on your joints! lol
My wife told me if I went to one more Sprint Car race
she would leave me.................I'm sure gonna miss
that ol' gal.

Glad that you got home, and that you're now in rehab....
Just remember, one of the steps of a twelve step program is apologizing to all of those you've offended over the years....Oh, it's not that kind of rehab. Good thing - there aren't enough message boards available to handle all of those messages....
Get well soon, Duane, and do all of your rehab exercises.....
Chuck.....

We have all seen motorized bar stools, motorized coolers, etc. Maybe we should get together and build Duane a motorized recliner. I can see him now getting upside down at the pitgate! Take care Duane and I hope to see you back at a track soon.

HEY DUANE!!!
More weight, more regulation, more similarity in the
cars.... that will ensure plenty of thrills for years
to come. Only the most average talent behind the
wheel will be needed with such awesome equipment on
the track!
