Would this be the red and white car found in a barn? I have pics, would love to post them if it's okay. They are cool shots!

Those are some great pics, after I talked to David last night, went into the house and sat down and pulled a couple of shoe boxes and 2 albums of pics and 12 am get to bed cause I lost track of time , like I said need to learn how to post but can bring them the 22nd, got lots of Amarillo , Wichita, Lawton and Devil's Bowls , OKC , Hutch and Tulsa , Wichita Falls and even some Tri State in Ft. Smith NCRA's from the late 70's and some late 70's Sprinters from the Bowl and some Champ Dirt stuff from the early to mid 80's and Brian even got a complete volume of programs from Echo Ranch Speedway in Ada,Ok. from the 73 season which my wife's brother ran back then in a 6 banger and that deal of programs are just way to cool , , Seen some the pics Brian posted that are very similar to mine like the 76 car going down the highway shot on the trailer , that was taken on I 44 between Lawton and WF on the way to Wichita Falls NCRA.
Will check with Round Up and see what they say today and will let everyone know about it on here what they say about the room or some tables.
So Sat. night the 22nd of Nov. is good for all then its a get together, Brian you might see if Mike from Lawton would like to make it up.

Brian,
This is Pat driving the old '73 Ford P/U pulling the 2nd Parson car, this is the car that was single rail from the front of the motor back space frame front of motor forward, this is the car that Dale helped me build and Pat & I got into the fight over I took it to Jarvis's dads shop to finish as I was going to drive it well that is about the time of the war, Harry Connor came and talked to me and told me I needed to straighten things out with Pat, so after a few days Marvin Clair went to Jarvis's shop and helped me P/U car and we put it in storage until Pat and I sorted things out. Anyway at the end of '77 Ronnie Black came over and P/U car and they started putting it together for the '78 season which is the car in pic above. Several people drove this car with Dale Reed being the last at the '80 Enid Winter NCRA race. I was alittle disappointed in this car it never worked as good as the orginial Parson/Walker #76.

Brian,
Unique thing about this car is it's light look at the size of tubing it only had 1.5" main rails if I remember right, Walt built his own motors and he was a master of low profile tires, any time it was dry slick Walt was tough in this car, everybody would run diamonds or drag 500's and Walt did also but when it came time for low profile tires watch out!!!

Brian,
Lot of neat stuff in this pic, does anybody regonize the guy on LR tire? Pat(old man) is standing at right trailer tire, my boss Jerry Maxwell in white uniform selling tire to somebody and I'm standing behind driver talking to Jerry.
On the back tire is Gene Jones, that would be David Jones dad who builds those great AirFlow wings!!

Aarron Madden? dokay
|
Brian,
This is the Walker car that had the torsion under the front seat with arms running back, Aaron ran it for a season then Grady Wade drove it the next year (correct me Jim if I'm wrong) for a while then Larry Madden started driving it, believe George Stephens bought it and ran it as a modified for a while then put a V-8 in it and ran on 1/2 mile. Believe in this pic it has Larry's name on it.

Yeah, this is the second Walker car that Aaron bought. As a super I don't think it ever worked quite as good as the first car. It did have several decent drivers in it, with not much success. George did really good with the 6 cylinder in it though.
The car we bought from Aaron was the 71' Walker. After he bought the sprint car, he sold us this car as a frame & body, with a lot of boxes of parts & we did the rest. We actually built the car inside a room down at Southwest Auto School. We carried in a bare frame & when the car was assembled we had to take a wall down to get it out!
Ran that car for 4 years as a super, then Randy ran it on 1/4 mile for 1 year. Last I heard in the mid 80's Dutch had the frame & now I have no clue where the car is. That was a great car though.

Brian,
This is the orginial #67 Parson 4-bar, I wish Kim could get this car or the orginial #67 single rail springer back and restore to orginial condition and car or cars be back in the family, I helped rebuilt this car over the winter of '75 I worked for Dale after school and work (PC ORG & LeRoys Grill) we worked late into the night would go eat dinner at the Pizza Planet on 50th & N. Meridian about 10:00PM then back to work until 12:00 or 1:00, no wonder I just barely passed high school.
Dale sold this car to Jeff Sykes in Tulsa who the week before he bought Dales car crashed bad on that big track and broke his leg and banged himself up, he probably should not have drove as soon as he did but Jeff was a great up and coming racer and had a bright future, he crashed this car turning over a few time but did not survive, car was barely hurt didn't take much to fix it I remember that well. It was a sad day I remember going back the next week to race it was pretty sad!!

Brian,
The Van in back ground with tires belonged to Carl Connelly, he was a dealer for Marsh recaps and those great Marsh Humppers!!

Brian,
I always loved the look of Benny's cars I often wondered why Pat never had Benny build him a car, I have told several people that I think an 86" version of this car would still be competive in todays world if you could get a good spring. These cars were clean looking!!!

Brian,
This is Harold and Roger half of a potent team, oh how much I wanted to be more involved at this time but it just wasn't meant to be at this time. I was still working at Dales and racing with other people but the old man still didn't want me involved, other 1/2 of this potent team Pat and Ronnie Black, of course you could also throw in C. Good,Jack Spearman,Tom Yahola & Jack Davis.

Brian,
Everybody's friend JR, this was the Ford powered #8 that Armstrong drove he won alot of races in '72-'73 in this car, I believe it was still #8 when JR started driving it and up until he crashed in '74 in the Hutch Fire.

I talked to a guy I guess who is in charge at Round Up on SE 29th in MWC today and he said just come by and get a table or 2 , they don't really reserve but said he did'nt see a problem with getting a table on a Sat. night , the place is packed pretty good for the lunch crowd, I think it should be OK to try it and see how it goes. how about a time say 6:30 or ? .
Let me know what you all think and anybody else out there who has contributed or just reading these post , show up , should be a hell of a time, dam sure know I got a few questions to ask.
